Role Overview:
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for demonstrating the value of the PagerDuty Digital Operations Platform to commercial and major sales customers. Your focus will be on conducting technical sales discovery to uncover customer challenges, delivering custom demos tailored to specific business needs, running Proof-of-Value (PoV) sessions to showcase business impact, and creating current state architectures to map existing workflows and identify optimization opportunities.
The Sales Engineer will be a blend of technical expertise, consultative selling skills, and strong communication to effectively engage with customers ranging from DevOps engineers to senior executives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Sales Discovery – Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to assess customer pain points, business goals, and existing workflows.
- Custom Demonstrations – Deliver tailored demos that highlight how PagerDuty’s Digital Operations Platform can solve specific business challenges and drive efficiency.
- Proof-of-Value (PoV) Execution – Lead PoV engagements that validate PagerDuty’s business impact through hands-on customer trials and real-world use cases.
- Current State Architecture Mapping – Document and analyze existing customer workflows, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for automation and incident response improvements.
About You – Skills & Attributes:
- Fluency in English (with Business Acumen)
- Strong ability to bridge technical and business conversations, making complex concepts accessible to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience selling SaaS solutions to commercial and enterprise customers.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, technical consulting, or solutions engineering role.
- Experience with IT operations, incident management, monitoring, or DevOps tooling
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Experience working with APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial sales environments.
Time zone: 7am - 4pm ET
