About Position 

We're looking for a bright, energetic and experienced marketer to join Paidy. We are currently in a very exciting phase of growth in Japan, pushing business forward with key merchants, including global giants. 

The Partner Marketing Lead will be a primary marketing contact for local and international partners, responsible for negotiating, developing and implementing impactful marketing programs with our strategically important  merchants and nurture those relationships for a long-term successful business partnership. 

In this role, we seek a marketing professional who enjoys managing and growing relationships with partners and is comfortable owning the full life cycle of projects from negotiation through idea to execution. The preferred candidate must know how to develop and implement business/marketing strategies and effective programs that will help both our partners and Paidy business goals. This position will report to the VP of Marketing in a Marketing department.

Key Role and Responsibilities

The key objectives of this role are to lead and shape the marketing activities with Paidy’s strategic partners (merchants). Specifically:

  • Identify key business challenges, goals and opportunities of our partners and develop marketing strategies based on that - working with cross functional departments, including Business Development/Sales, Consumer/Brand-Marketing as well as Product and UX
  • Achieve business objectives through the comarketing actions with partners.
  • Execute those co-marketing activities in collaboration with partner merchants and internal resources against business KPIs
  • Foster long-term relationships for sustainable growth
  • As a stakeholder, work with product development teams (UX, Technical Product Managers, Engineers etc.) to shape the overall product and customer experience for better business outcomes for the partner and Paidy

Skills and Requirements

Our ideal candidate must have prior experience building strategies for various partnerships as well as marketing channels, including owned, earned and paid.(e.g.: working in house as a Partner Marketing manager, or at an advertising agency in a senior account management role). 

You will exhibit an ability to work independently and in an organized manner with a high level of autonomy and with initiative.

You will be a confident self-starter with the passion and enthusiasm to get stuck into projects to deliver great business results. And you'll have an entrepreneurial approach and creative spark which you can bring to the Paidy brand.

The competencies and experience we are looking for are summarized here;

  • ~10 years of experience including track record of managing partnerships,  developing and executing marketing strategies and initiatives online and offline
  • Leading cross functional teams internally and externally to define and execute innovative ideas 
  • With a solution-oriented mindset, you'll see problems as opportunities to find creative solutions that make things better.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport and translate established partner relationships to programs that impact the business
  • Solid understanding of both of business and customers to proactively explore win-win business/marketing opportunities
  • Good project management skills, including budgeting
  • Experience in CRM is a plus

  • Language skills - ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in Japanese and English.

  1. Acquisition and Purpose of Use

Paidy Inc. (hereinafter the “Company”) acquires from those who desire to apply for employment opportunities of the Company the information capable of identifying the particular individual, such as name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. Such acquisition is for the purpose of use in recruitment activities (such as pre-interview screening process, interviews, assessment, and communication with the applicant), and the Company will not use such information for any other purpose.

  1. Third-Party Provision of Personal Information

Unless otherwise authorized under the applicable law, the Company will not provide any personal information from any applicant to any third party other than the suppliers engaged by the Company for services without the consent of the applicant.

  1. Engagement of Suppliers
