Paidy has reached an agreement to join PayPal. This role will support both businesses in Japan.

About Position 

The Sales Strategy team is responsible for supporting field sales to acquire large-scale merchants, developing strategic business plans, and planning promotions to strengthen revenue and branding for Paidy services.

This role involves identifying global merchants’ core challenges, considering how those challenges can be solved through payment solutions, and building win-win relationships with merchants through negotiations based on strategic initiatives.

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Working with PayPal’s Global Merchants sales teams to gain access to decision makers for the Japan market
  • Prospecting and proposal-based sales to Global merchants
  • Supporting onboarding of Global merchants and expanding Paidy and PayPal business growth through issue resolution
  • Building and managing a sales pipeline to achieve targets
  • Expanding Paidy and PayPal business growth through problem-solving and identifying the opportunity for marketing initiatives for new and existing global merchants
  • Maintaining appropriate communication with internal stakeholders and related departments
  • B2B contract negotiations

Skills and Requirements

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge
  • Speaking, reading and writing English at a business level
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization including heavy engagement with team members outside of Japan
  • General awareness and knowledge of information security (personal data)
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with a proven track record of building new businesses or customer portfolios
  • Strong logical thinking skills, with the ability to accurately understand situations and explain them clearly
  • Experience in problem-solving through hypothesis setting, solution development, execution, and systematization
  • Strong communication skills to proactively build relationships with various stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Speaking, reading and writing Japanese at a business level strongly desired
  • Experience in IT, e-commerce, or payment-related fields
  • Experience selling to global organizations
  • Experience with common customer relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce or Pipedrive
