Summary

This Construction Operations Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage our installation build partner throughput, the working queues for re-roofs, electrical upgrades, trenching, and structural work  to ensure quotes, coordination and execution are completed in a timely manner, supporting and accelerating Palmetto’s revenue goals.

 

The Construction Operations Manager will also be responsible for implementing and managing pre-construction process enhancements and vendor network development, focused on improving platform experience for customers, sales members, and build partners.

 

In addition to pre-construction responsibilities, the Construction Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the Operations Manager’s oversight of the field installation crews, ensuring successful and cost effective project execution, quality reviews, on-site management, and safety enforcement. 

 

 

Success Defined:

 

  • Maintain high quality build partner installation execution within established SLAs
  • Pre construction blockers do not delay  solar installations 
  • Maintain positive relationships with our preconstruction build partners to ensure high quality and efficient installations
  • Identify any required electrical or roofing pre-construction needs prior to commencement of PV installation







Strategic/Tactical Responsibilities

  • Oversee throughput from installation commencement through inspection complete for our installation build partner network
  • Establish and manage Palmetto pre-construction throughput pipelines and analytics  to support best in industry install and PTO timelines.
  • Implement new processes and refine existing processes to improve and support pre-construction project throughput.
  • Develop and manage standard operating procedures that will support high velocity scale, and replicable workflows across national markets.
  • Manage project coordination with urgency, with a goal of completing all pre-construction work prior to permitting approval, or synchronously with installation...
  • Work with CX leadership and sales  teams to ensure customer and sales member communication around pre-construction coordination and adder inclusion is flawless.
  • Manage contractor partnerships and growth of Palmetto’s vendor network, meeting determined KPIs for coverage, pricing, and quality standards
  • Work with the fulfillment specialist group, focusing on pre-deployment customer coordination and experience.  
  • Support the Quality Control technician in the assessment of projects and the submission of project packets to finance partners.
  • Coordinate closely with the Design and Engineering and Field Operations/SQT groups to ensure operational best practices are adhered to.
  • Work with the Finance Team to ensure accurate and timely financial reconciliation for all pricing adders, including inclusion of pricing in customer finance and accurate reflection in commission remittance reporting and payout.
  • Develop quoting tools and methodologies that will allow accelerated timelines and throughput for all projects requiring pre-construction work.
  • Perform necessary site visits of external crews to ensure quality and safety standards are being met. 
  • Support the General Manager with day to day functions to maintain high quality execution and fulfillment SLAs

Required Background and Skills

 

  • Minimum 4 years operational leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of process improvement and leadership capability.
  • Ability to recognize and call out code and quality issues related to electrical and roofing work
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic systems and the ability to implement high quality training programs
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • BA/BS in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
