Summary of Role
As a key member of the Finance Team, the Director, Revenue and Financial Reporting will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and will have broad scope and oversight over the Revenue related accounting functions and will oversee all US GAAP Financial Reporting requirements.
This is a newly developed and critical position created due to the explosive growth and complexity in our business that will interface cross-functionally and be a key resource within the organization.
Strategic & Tactical
- Oversee the Revenue Accounting team and the monthly revenue close process
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements for Palmetto and non-consolidated joint venture entities using Workiva
- Provide technical accounting expertise for non-routine, unusual or complex events and transactions
- Review and document the Company’s ongoing analyses for key revenue recognition assumptions and conclusions under ASC 606
- Work cross-functionally on contemplated complex revenue transactions to ensure technical accounting and operational capabilities are incorporated up front
- Collaborate effectively with the company’s external auditors for all areas of responsibility
- Lead the accounts receivable team
- Develop and present monthly management reports and KPIs
- Establish oversight controls for all processes under purview
- Work closely with our business systems and technology teams to automate routine transactions
- Create efficient processes for cash applications
- Manage relationships with cross functional departments heads across the organization, staying abreast of strategic needs that may drive changes to financial policies, tools and risk management
- Collaborate with the Corporate Controllership team to assist with the consolidated close
- Hire, mentor, lead, train, and develop staff to meet financial and accounting initiatives
- Ad-hoc/special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of US GAAP, be very detail-oriented, responsive, tech-savvy, operationally focused, and a good cross-functional business partner
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- CPA required
- 10+ years of accounting experience. Experience can be a combination of public accounting firm and industry experience
- Knowledge of technical accounting literature including but not limited to ASC 606
- Demonstrated ability to lead both initiatives and teams in a fast-paced environment, and to communicate technical accounting requirements and implications to both technical and non-technical audience
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy, detail orientation and the ability to produce in tight timelines
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Possess the highest level of integrity
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent team player
- Available for occasional travel
