Department Description

Palmetto Capital is the financing engine behind hundreds of thousands of clean energy installations. As Senior PM for Palmetto Capital, you will own end-to-end product strategy and execution for one or more market segments of our consumer financing business and hold product ownership of the core technical components that power our origination, underwriting, onboarding, and servicing across all segments.

This is a builder's role. You'll work in a fast-growing, rapidly diversifying business unit where the problems are interesting and the opportunity to define something meaningful is real. You'll partner with engineering, design, data, operations, and business leaders — as well as external capital providers, installer partners, and service integrators — to ship products that scale efficiently and create durable value.

This role reports to the VP of Product, Palmetto Capital.

Location

This position will be based in Charlotte, NC.

What You'll Own

Platform & Product Execution

  • Drive the product roadmap for key components of Palmetto’s financing origination and servicing platform — from discovery through delivery and iteration
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog; partner with engineering and stakeholders to groom, build, test, and expand.
  • Own OKRs that tie your team's work to measurable business unit and company objectives
  • Evaluate and evolve product strategy based on experiment results, usage data, and market signals

Growth & Diversification

  • Identify, define, and build solutions that drive growth in core solar + storage and home improvement financing and expand into new asset classes and markets
  • Enable Palmetto to integrate with external platforms (capital providers, installer tools, data providers) to accelerate growth and capture market share
  • Partner with business development, operations, and servicing teams to uncover and prioritize the right problems

Customer & Market Intelligence

  • Develop deep expertise in Palmetto’s customer segments — homeowners, installers, capital providers, etc — through ongoing research, testing, and analysis. Be in the field and work directly with internal and external users.
  • Translate customer insight into clear problem definitions, scoped solutions, and confident decisions
  • Balance commercial and technical perspectives when navigating tradeoffs

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across operations, business development, servicing, business systems, platform, data, and consumer product teams
  • Influence prioritization and action across dotted-line teams without direct authority
  • Deploy modern product development practices: ample discovery, rapid validation, outcome-based delivery, iteration.

AI & Platform Leverage

  • Actively identify and apply AI-powered tools and approaches to accelerate discovery cycles, improve team productivity, and make smarter use of data and platform capabilities

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 7–10 years of product management experience, with meaningful time in consumer finance origination, servicing, capital markets, credit/risk, or adjacent domains
  • Background in B2B home improvement, solar, or consumer-facing financial products strongly preferred
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or during a period of significant product portfolio scaling is a strong plus
  • Proven track record owning a roadmap, leading sprint execution, and shipping independently

Skills & Mindset

  • Deep fluency with platform workflows, API integrations, and decisioning systems connecting internal and third-party tools
  • Strong analytical orientation — comfortable defining metrics, pulling data, and connecting quantitative signals to product decisions
  • Iterative thinker with experience running experiments, learning from failure, and using those learnings to move faster
  • High-EQ communicator and influencer who can rally cross-functional teams around a clear vision without relying on authority
  • Bias toward action: disambiguates fast, moves toward clarity, and knows when to go hands-on
  • Entrepreneurial — comfortable starting from zero and building something meaningful from scratch

What Success Looks Like in Year One

  • You have a deep understanding of Palmetto’s origination and servicing workflows, data model, and key integrations
  • You've shipped meaningful product improvements that demonstrate measurable impact on growth, efficiency, or portfolio quality
  • You've established strong working relationships across Capital, Platform, Data, and Operations teams
  • You're operating largely autonomously — driving roadmap decisions, managing backlog, and running sprint activities with minimal supervision
  • You've defined OKRs for your domain and are tracking against them with credible data

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
