Your Role 

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you Will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of distributed applications through advanced automation and API validation strategies.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for backend services using Java (Java 8+).
• Validating REST APIs, ensuring compliance with contracts, versioning, and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Designing and executing automated tests using tools such as Karate, RestAssured, and Postman/Newman.
• Implementing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and TestContainers.
• Validating authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, JWT) to ensure secure systems.
• Applying SOLID principles and design patterns to build scalable and maintainable test architectures.
• Validating integrations with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Collaborating with development teams to drive quality early in the lifecycle (shift-left approach).
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Performing troubleshooting, log analysis, and debugging in distributed systems.
• Participating in code reviews and managing Pull Requests.
• Contributing to advanced testing practices such as contract testing and service virtualization.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation / Backend Testing using Java.
• Strong experience in REST API testing and contract validation.
• Proficiency with tools such as Karate, RestAssured, Postman/Newman.
• Experience with testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, TestContainers.
• Solid understanding of API design principles (REST, versioning, contracts).
• Experience validating API security (OAuth2, JWT).
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of ORMs such as Hibernate / JPA.
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns applied to testing.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and log analysis skills.
• Advanced English (B2+/C1) for technical communication and documentation.
• ISTQB Certification.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing systems in cloud environments (preferably IBM Cloud).
• Familiarity with IBM Kubernetes Service and IBM API Connect.
• Experience with contract testing (Pact, Spring Cloud Contract).
• Experience with service virtualization tools (WireMock).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (k6, JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, Datadog).
