About The Role:
This role will be a part of the Go-to-Market team and partner with the Head of GTM & Growth Marketing, who will be hyper-focused on creating multichannel, member and partner-facing comms and experiences. The team is composed of strategic thinkers and masterful doers in order to serve the best experience for Umi customers and this role is critical to driving business results from acquisition through engagement and retention.
The ideal candidate is a creative, digital-savvy, strategic problem solver with a proven track record of working within an ambiguous environment to execute successful, full-funnel journeys for members and partners, informed by data, capabilities, and business goals and needs. You will own and optimize all customer communication channels (email, push notifications, in-app messaging) across the Umi portfolio while also leading monetization initiatives to maximize conversion, retention, and expansion. We need someone who is comfortable working collaboratively with internal (Marketing, Creative, Product, Operations, and Engineering) and external partners (agencies and our Partner Collective) to drive concepts to execution across all touchpoints.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Lifecycle Marketing & Communications:
- Own and execute email, push notification, and in-app messaging strategy across the entire customer journey
- Develop segmentation, personalization, and automation workflows to deliver relevant communications at scale
- Manage communication calendars, ensuring optimal frequency and cross-channel coordination
- Monitor and optimize channel performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversion, unsubscribes)
Monetization & Growth:
- Lead experiments to improve install-to-paid and trial-to-paid conversion rates
- Optimize in-app experiences including paywalls, upsells, and feature gates
- Drive retention and expansion initiatives for paying customers
- Partner with Product to influence roadmap and remove conversion friction points
- Analyze cohort behavior, retention curves, and revenue metrics to identify opportunities
Cross-functional Leadership:
- Be the owner of our App Store presence and marketing automation platform, creating a process to lead and execute the end to end process for varied teams from intaking requests building, QA’ing, sending and reporting campaigns
- Partner with Head of GTM on OKRs and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with Product and Operations on feature launches and service updates
- Manage external agencies and freelancers for lifecycle projects
- Share insights and recommendations that drive action across teams
What You’ll Bring:
- 8+ years in B2C/B2B lifecycle marketing, CRM, or growth marketing
- Expert-level knowledge of email marketing and push notification best practices
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms
- Proven track record improving conversion rates, retention, and LTV through experimentation
- Experience with A/B testing, paywall optimization, and in-app messaging tools
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams
- Knowledge of compliance requirements (CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
- Excellent project management and communication skills

Grade level and salary ranges are determined by the scope and complexity of the role, along with a review of the applicant’s experience and skills, alignment with geographic market data, and equity with other team members.
