Technical Artist

Bogotá, Bogotá, Colombia; Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia; Remote

Pandvil creates some of the most played experiences on Fortnite, and we're now making moves into Roblox. With team members across the world and a new Colombia office on the way, we're at an exciting inflection point — growing fast, staying collaborative, and looking for people who want to be part of something that's already at the top and has even bigger ambitions ahead.

  • About this Role
    • This is a ground-floor opportunity to join Pandvil's Colombian team as one of its first members. You'll start fully remote within Colombia, but we're actively searching for office space now and expect to be in a physical location within a few months. Medellín is our first choice, with Bogotá as a strong alternative — and where we land will be shaped in part by where our team is. Whether you're in Medellín, Bogotá, or nearby, if you're excited to be part of building something from the ground up and open to working onsite once we're established, we want to hear from you.
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Design, build, and maintain efficient art pipelines and custom tools for Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Roblox Studio.
    • Model, texture, and optimize props, characters, weapons, and environment assets to platform-specific performance standards.
    • Create and refine character rigs, skin weights, animation blueprints/systems, and in-game animations optimized for both UEFN and Roblox.
    • Build and optimize materials, shaders, lighting setups, Niagara (UEFN) / Particle Emitter & Beam systems (Roblox), and VFX that deliver high visual quality within tight budgets.
    • Produce environment art (modular kits, landscapes, props, and set dressing) tailored for gameplay and memorable spaces on both platforms.
    • Profile and optimize all assets (meshes, textures, LODs, draw calls, animations, effects) for smooth high-player-count performance in Fortnite and Roblox.
    • Develop automation scripts, validators, and procedural tools (Blueprints, Python, Verse for UEFN; Lua for Roblox) to accelerate artist workflows.
    • Collaborate daily with artists, designers, and developers to solve technical-art challenges and maintain visual consistency across platforms.
    • Research new UEFN features, Roblox updates, and best practices, then implement them across modeling, rigging, animation, and environment pipelines.
    • Troubleshoot asset, rigging, animation, and rendering issues quickly to keep production moving on both Fortnite and Roblox projects.
  • Qualifications
    • 3+ years of Technical Artist or combined Technical/Production Artist experience in game development or real-time interactive media (Unreal Engine + Roblox experience strongly preferred)
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating both artistic work (modeling, rigging, animation, environment art) and technical contributions (tools, shaders, pipelines, optimized scenes)
    • Proven experience shipping real-time 3D projects that reached players on Fortnite, Roblox, or similar platforms
    • UEFN / Fortnite Creative experience is highly valued; Roblox development experience is a big plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Arts, Game Design, Animation, or equivalent practical experience
    • Proficiency in English
    • Strong portfolio of published competitive maps or high-engagement experiences.
  • Nice to Have
    • Familiarity with Perforce, Git, or other version control systems used in team environments.
    • Experience with procedural content generation (PCG), Houdini, or advanced modular workflows
    • Knowledge of multiplayer networking considerations and how they impact art asset design.
    • Passion for competitive gaming and a track record of playing Fortnite or Roblox at a high level.
    • Mentoring or tech-art leadership experience (helping junior artists grow)

We're at the start of something bigger. New platforms, new markets, new office — and we need great people to grow with us. If you're ready to do the best work of your career at a studio that's already proven it can reach the top, let's talk.
