Strategy and Operations Associate (Hybrid)
About the Role
As Strategy & Operations Associate, you will help drive strategic analysis along with supporting continuous improvement of financial operations. You will build key performance indicator reporting, own the 5-year projection model, drive customer facing pricing changes, and complete ad hoc projects in support of the Strategy & Operations team, along with the business as a whole. The projects can range from short-term immediate impact projects, like analysis of an A/B test or new pricing campaign, to defining success for long term strategic initiatives, such as a new product or country launch. Reporting to the Strategy & Operations Sr. Manager, you will help build a best-in-class S&O function. You should have strong attention to detail and enjoy solving complex challenges and implementing innovative solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitor KPIs and business drivers, highlighting trends and analyzing underlying causes of variance to goals
- Analyze financial and performance data, and create financial models, to support strategic decision-making at Pangea
- Build measurement plans based on strategic imperatives, communication objectives and marketing strategies
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and minimize opex growth as Pangea scales
- Execute FX purchases across multiple major currencies
- Drive the internal and external narrative on Pangea’s financial performance through reporting in preparation for regular C-suite reviews
- Monitor the competitor pricing landscape and suggest pricing changes in order to remain competitive in the market
- Work closely with the accounting team and budget owners to ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
- Manage monthly department-level budget variance reporting to ensure responsible capital allocation at Pangea
- Partner closely with the Marketing team to design tests and execute analysis to generate actionable insights
- Run ad hoc projects that are often data-intensive and require comfort with numbers to make decisions
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field
- 2 - 4+ years of experience working in Strategy / Finance / Investment Banking / Consulting / Business Intelligence
- Proven quantitative and analytical competency and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint, along with Google Sheets and Google Slides
Bonus points if you have:
- Professional written and verbal communication skills in Spanish
- Experience with Looker or other BI/Reporting tools
- Experience with SQL
Compensation:
The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $109,000. Actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the range shown. Additional compensation for this role may include a bonus and restricted stock units. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in Company benefits, described in more detail here.
