Panoramians can choose to work fully remote anywhere within the Continental United States.
Please note that this opportunity is for a consulting opportunity beginning with a 3-month contract term. Project work will vary from 10-25 hours per week.
If you are interested in full-time employment with Panorama, please see currently open opportunities on our Careers page.
About the Role:
An important part of Panorama’s growth and impact has been the design and delivery of on-demand resources that help educators navigate and understand how to use Panorama’s tools. These resources live in Panorama Academy, our customer-facing knowledge base, and include explainer video tutorials, PDF guides, presentation decks, and help articles. As Panorama’s products continue to evolve, we are seeking a project-based instructional design consultant to audit and update select resources to ensure they remain accurate, relevant, and valuable for our end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update assigned resources or articles in Panorama Academy to reflect recent product improvements and ensure they clearly communicate current functionality
- Update existing resources to be more inclusive and better meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards (we will offer guidance and resources, but prior knowledge and experience is ideal)
- Identify opportunities to embed exemplar K-12 educator use cases within articles and other resources to demonstrate real-world application of Panorama’s tools
- Collaborate with internal Panorama subject matter experts as needed to gather input, ensure resources align with user needs, and incorporate feedback to improve content
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated success in developing resources and learning experiences that help K–12 educators navigate and get value from software they use in their day-to-day work
- At least 3 years of experience designing and creating customer-facing product education, documentation, training, or support assets, preferably within a SaaS environment or a K–12 school or district
- Excellent writing and content creation skills, including the ability to explain product functionality and value to a broad audience via text, image, video, and more
- Working knowledge of HTML for editing and formatting content in a source editor (headings, paragraphs, tables, callouts, images, and embedded media)
- Experience applying graphic design best practices to produce clear, visually appealing instructional materials (slides, PDFs, and other resources)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong copy editing skills, with the ability to make text easy to read and act upon
- Demonstrated effectiveness in advancing equity through resource design and creation
- Proven ability to get up to speed quickly on new software and systems
Showcase your best work:
Show us what you have created before! To apply, please include a portfolio that highlights your instructional design and content creation skills. You may attach files or share links to individual pieces. Your portfolio should demonstrate your ability to explain complex ideas clearly and present them in a visually engaging way.
Please upload one PDF document that includes links to at least two separate artifacts of your instructional design work.
Your PDF must include one artifact for each of the following examples:
- Instructional Presentation DeckA presentation you designed to teach learners (ideally K–12 educators) how to use a product or tool, demonstrating your ability to explain complex processes in a clear and engaging way.
- Documentation-Based ResourceA PDF document or guide you wrote based on product documentation (for example, a how-to article, quick-start guide, or user manual) that shows how you translate technical content into user-friendly language for K–12 educators.
Salary: $35/hr
Our salary is just one component of Panorama’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes annual bonuses or commission awards, equity awards, as well as other region-specific health and welfare benefits
