About the Job

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will help build the teams that enable Panthalassa’s mission. You will manage full-cycle recruiting for technical, engineering, and scientific roles while working closely with a recruiting program manager and other teammates. This role is designed for someone who thrives as a thought partner—bringing expertise, ideas, and execution.

You’ll collaborate to improve sourcing strategies, candidate experiences, and hiring outcomes without taking on direct management responsibilities or reshaping the overall recruiting program. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to recruit exceptional talent, share knowledge, and help scale recruiting efforts through teamwork and partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for designated technical, engineering, and scientific roles with ability to support other functions as needed
  • Collaborate with teammates to define role requirements and search strategies
  • Develop and execute sourcing campaigns using outbound search, referrals, and targeted outreach
  • Screen candidates for technical and cultural alignment and guide them through interviews
  • Coordinate onsite interviews, ensuring smooth scheduling, logistics, and candidate experience
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill roles
  • Partner with People Operations and hiring teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality candidate experience
  • Use recruiting data and market insights to refine search strategies and support hiring decisions
  • Represent Panthalassa’s mission and technical work with confidence and authenticity
  • Stay informed about recruiting trends, compensation benchmarks, and emerging best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, successfully hiring for technical, engineering, and scientific roles
  • Demonstrated success sourcing hard-to-find technical talent through outbound search and targeted outreach
  • Experience recruiting in startup or high-growth environments with evolving priorities
  • Strong communication skills and a candidate-first approach
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (Greenhouse preferred) and sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, etc.)
  • Skilled in evaluating candidates for technical capabilities and cultural alignment
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-moving, collaborative environments
  • Experience managing pipelines for high-volume or hard-to-fill roles
  • Comfort using data and market insights to guide hiring decisions
  • Knowledge of current recruiting trends, compensation norms, and best practices in technical hiring
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and a genuine interest in the technical and scientific work of supported teams

Compensation & Benefits

If hired for this full-time role, you will receive:

  • Cash compensation of $110,000 – $140,000
  • Equity in the company. We’re all owners, and if we’re successful, this equity should be far and away the most valuable component of your compensation.
  • A benefits package that helps you take care of yourself and your family, including:

    • Flexible paid time off
    • Health insurance (the company pays 100% of gold level PPO plan for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents)
    • Dental insurance (the company pays 33% for full-time employees and 100% for their partners and dependents)
    • Vision insurance (the company pays 100% for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents)
    • Disability insurance (the company pays 100% for a policy to provide long-term financial support if you become disabled)
    • Ability to contribute to tax-advantaged accounts, including 401(k), health FSA, and dependent care FSA
    • Relocation assistance to facilitate your move to Portland (if required).
