Purpose of the Position
Pantheon is a complex business with challenging customers, sharp stakeholders, and an ambition to deliver Operations with the highest degree of efficiency and effectiveness.
The Transaction Control team was formed in January 2020 to improve and monitor the quality of data between Pantheon and 20+ third party administrators. This is done largely through designing and building reconciliations and quality control checks, engaging directly with the stakeholders and consulting on upstream processes.
The team have completed 150+ process reviews and projects since January 2020 to deliver a streamlined, control platform. After building momentum we’re now ready to take it to the next level. The Senior Associate role is critical in these plans to do so and will be at the heart of the team as we move in an exhilarating direction to expand the impact of the team on the rest of the business. Transaction Control is a close-knit team of 6 highly engaged team players who balance collaboration and individual achievement to achieve mutually advantageous goals.
The next couple of years at Pantheon are going to be even more exciting as Operations transforms into a data-led department that incorporates technologies at the forefront of the Private Equity industry into its standard operating model. The transformation workflow is a fundamental redesign of all core processes to ensure that they’re industry leading, best in class and scalable for the next generation. Every step of the way there will be opportunities for the team to take advantage of our unique position, develop new processes and utilise new technology.
The successful candidate will be overseeing a team of 5 high performing individuals who are committed to delivering high-quality work every day. We’re looking for a team leader with strong managerial, interpersonal and organisational skills. They should also be happy to learn on the job, using their own initiative to fill any knowledge gaps as and when they arise.
The successful candidate will also to be responsible for guiding the team through a period of transition and cross-training, as we look to incorporate additional team deliverables subsequent to recent restructure of the Operations department. The opportunity is available on a Fixed Term Contract basis, until Sept 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Transaction Control team to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately and timely reconciled.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Oversee the reconciliation process, ensuring that all discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Work closely with other departments to investigate and resolve any transactional discrepancies or issues.
- Owning key relationships with internal/external stakeholders through regular service review meetings with the aim of building up relationships and preventing process issues.
- Managing project work to support development of standardised processes and automated reconciliations. Using VBA, Advanced Excel, Power Applications and Business Objects you will look at streamlining and automating data flows/manual processes.
- Mentoring, encouraging and supporting team development.
Knowledge and Experience
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team.
- Ability to work in a busy team, working with multiple project deadlines.
- First-rate knowledge of reconciliation processes, procedures, and systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve complex discrepancies.
- Excellent communication skills. Able to influence and motivate individuals and teams and used to operating up and down a multi-tiered management structure.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is preferred.
- Knowledge of Power Applications is preferred.
