The Operations Support Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the underwriting team by ensuring operational processes run efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations. This position is responsible for data integrity, workflow management, and facilitating key operational tasks that enable Underwriters and the Underwriting Assistant Team to focus on risk assessment and decision-making.
This Position will Work a Hybrid Schedule from our Avon, CT Location.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and operational support to underwriters and their specific program business, including data entry, document preparation, and policy processing.
- Maintain and update underwriting systems and databases to ensure data accuracy and audit readiness.
- Generate reports and dashboards to track underwriting activities, production metrics, and service level agreements.
- Monitor workflow queues, flag delays, and assist in resolving processing bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Claims, Compliance, IT) to resolve operational issues and improve process flows.
- Support audit preparation and respond to internal or external audit inquiries.
- Assist in the implementation of new tools, templates, and procedures to enhance underwriting operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting process enhancements.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, industry regulations, and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years in an operational support role within insurance or financial services.
- Experience with underwriting processes and systems (e.g., policy admin, submission tracking platforms) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with data analysis/reporting tools a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with commercial insurance products and underwriting terminology preferred.
