The Cultivation Technician operates under the direction of the cultivation leadership team and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the company’s cultivation operation including general labor, vegetative, flowering, mother &propagation, R&D, indoor, horticulture and may assist in monitoring and documenting plant growth. This is a “hands on,” entry level role in the cultivation process.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Plant Care & Cultivation Support
- Monitor and maintain the optimal climate, fertility, and pest management for plants at various stages of growth.
- Assist with all cultivation tasks, including transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest management (IPM).
- Support plant propagation by potting and taking cuttings from mother plants and assisting with cloning and vegetative stages.
- Maintain sanitation standards across cultivation areas, including sterilizing equipment, tools, and workspaces.
- Operate equipment safely and effectively to aid in cultivation operations (e.g., trimming machines, irrigation systems).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Research & Development
- Participate in R&D trials to improve cultivation methods and plant yields, implementing the scientific method for process improvement.
- Collect, record, and analyze data from cultivation activities and R&D experiments.
- Work closely with the R&D team to monitor ongoing trials, ensuring data validity and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Identify areas for improvement in cultivation practices, including plant health and environmental conditions.
- Harvesting & Post-Harvest Activities
- Conduct physical harvest of mature plants, ensuring adherence to production requirements and compliance with chain of custody protocols.
- Trim and process cannabis flowers, operating trimming machines when necessary, and maintaining separation of strains.
- Oversee and monitor the drying process, ensuring optimal environmental conditions in dry rooms.
- Prepare raw materials and manage harvest inventory, including weighing and recording data for wet and dry flower yields, as well as waste.
- Compliance & Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cultivation activities, including inventory, harvest weights, pest management treatments, and other production data.
- Follow regulatory compliance standards for plant tracking, seed-to-sale processes, and cultivation practices.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING
Required
- Age 21 or over (Industry Requirement)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Industry Requirement)
- Valid Government-Issued Photo ID (Industry Requirement)
- Minimum of 6+ months agricultural or cultivation experience (Preferred)
- Ability to calculate, record and be proficient with measurements
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to focus, be task oriented, and follow instructions unsupervised.
- Ability to understand communicate effectively
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., trimming plants, potting, and regular inventory activities, as needed).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly unassisted
- Ability to perform various physical activities, including lifting, standing, and squatting
- Ability to work in extreme weather (heat, cold, humidity)
- Ability to wear personal protective gear during portions of the day
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to service lights and fans
- General Environmental Exposure: Work environment can/may include exposure to allergens (i.e. cannabis, pollen, dander), plant pathogens dirt, fertilizers, dusts, odors, fumes, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, noise, vibrations, water, dry salts, volatile organic compounds, heights, and varying air conditioning conditions (indoor A/C, no A/C).
