The Cultivation Technician operates under the direction of the cultivation leadership team and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the company’s cultivation operation, including general labor, vegetative, flowering, mother, propagation, basic R&D based on Markets, indoor, and horticulture. The technician may also assist in monitoring and documenting plant growth. This is a “hands-on, " entry-level role in the cultivation process.

Position Overview:

Technicians will be cross-trained across sub-departments (Harvest, Moms, Indoor, Cloning, etc.) to support all stages of cultivation and ensure operational flexibility. The following duties reflect a combination of responsibilities across various cultivation areas.

Plant Care & Cultivation Support (Indoor/Outdoor)

    1. Monitor and maintain the optimal climate, fertility, and pest management for plants at various stages of growth.
    2. Assist with all cultivation tasks, including transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest management (IPM).
    3. Support plant propagation by potting and taking cuttings from mother plants and assisting with cloning and vegetative stages.
    4. Maintain sanitation standards across cultivation areas, including sterilizing equipment, tools, and workspaces.
    5. Operate equipment safely and effectively to aid in cultivation operations (e.g., trimming machines, irrigation systems).
    6. Other duties as assigned.
    7. Participate in R&D trials to improve cultivation methods and plant yields, implementing the scientific method for process improvement.
    8. Work closely with the R&D team to monitor ongoing trials, ensuring data validity and maintaining accurate documentation.

 

Harvesting & Post-Harvest Activities

    1. Conduct physical harvest of mature plants, ensuring adherence to production requirements and compliance with chain of custody protocols.
    2. Trim and process cannabis flowers, operating trimming machines when necessary, and maintaining separation of strains.
    3. Oversee and monitor the drying process, ensuring optimal environmental conditions in dry rooms.
    4. Prepare raw materials and manage harvest inventory, including weighing and recording data for wet and dry flower yields and waste

Compliance & Record-Keeping

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cultivation activities, including inventory, harvest weights, pest management treatments, and other production data.
  2. Follow regulatory compliance standards for plant tracking, seed-to-sale processes, and cultivation practices.
  3. Ensure adherence to company policies and safety protocols.

Experience & Skills

Required

  • Age 21 or over
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
  • The ability to understand and communicate information is essential.
  • Teamwork is a must.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in a cannabis facility, knowledge of plants, or experience in a related manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality control, policy, procedure, and documentation
  • Ability to multitask and be aware of multiple active processes
  • The ability to understand and communicate information is essential.

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to consistently lift to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to be in a constant standing/moving position
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks such as lifting, standing, squatting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to wear the required PPE, including but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes

General environment requirements

  • Frequent exposure to temperature (e.g., hot greenhouse environments and cold indoor rooms).
  • Exposure to environmental elements such as dust, fumes, allergens (including cannabis), plant material, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in areas with humidity and varying lighting or air conditioning levels.
