About ParetoHealth

ParetoHealth is redefining the way employers fund healthcare. As the largest and fastest-growing benefits captive in the United States, we help thousands of small and midsize employers take control of healthcare costs through a smarter, more sustainable model.

Our mission is simple: give small and midsize employers the scale and protection they need to eliminate volatility and lower healthcare costs.

By combining data-driven insights, innovative risk management, and the collective purchasing power of our community, we enable employers to reduce volatility, improve long-term outcomes, and reinvest savings into their businesses and their people.

Headquartered in Philadelphia, ParetoHealth is growing rapidly and transforming one of the country's largest industries. Our success is fueled by talented people who are united by our four core values: Fire in the Belly, For the Greater Good, See the Field, and Get It Done Right. These values shape how we innovate, collaborate, make decisions, and deliver exceptional results for our clients and one another.

If you're energized by solving complex challenges, thrive in a high-growth environment, and want to help reshape the future of healthcare, we'd love to meet you.

Please note that ParetoHealth does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship both now or in the future.

ParetoHealth has built the strongest stop-loss platform in the market, helping small and midsize employers access the advantages of self-funding through our employee benefits captive platform.

An important part of the value we deliver to our Members extends beyond financing healthcare to helping them manage its underlying cost. Our Savings Engine brings together the partners and solutions that help Members reduce healthcare costs and improve plan performance across three primary areas: medical cost containment and point solutions; pharmacy, including our PBM partnerships; and our broader network of third-party administrator (TPA) partners.

Our continued growth now depends on fully integrating and elevating this ecosystem — ensuring we have the right partners, driving strong performance across the portfolio, expanding into new areas of opportunity, and increasing adoption and utilization by our Members.

We are seeking a senior executive to own the strategy, performance, and evolution of the Savings Engine ecosystem end-to-end.

This is a platform-level leadership role with full accountability across partner strategy, performance, negotiation, and expansion. It requires a leader who can set the long-term strategy but is equally comfortable getting into the details and driving the work forward.

Role Mandate

  1. Own and execute our 12- and 36-month ecosystem strategy
  2. Lead and scale the partner organization across medical, pharmacy, and TPA verticals
  3. Be accountable for the performance of all ecosystem partners
  4. Institutionalize a best-in-class partner management discipline
  5. Drive measurable in-market adoption and utilization of the Savings Engine
  6. Ensure our ecosystem strategy translates directly into commercial value

Core Responsibilities

1. Ecosystem Strategy (12–36 Month Horizon)

Own and continuously evolve the multi-year roadmap across medical and pharmacy solutions and the broader ecosystem that supports them.

Defensive Strategy

  • Stay ahead of performance, integration, and economic issues within existing partnerships rather than waiting for problems to emerge.
  • Lead negotiation, renegotiation, restructuring, or exit decisions where warranted.
  • Regularly assess whether each partner is delivering the value we expect and address issues as needed.

Offensive Strategy

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact new areas where Pareto can meaningfully reduce healthcare costs and/or improve experience for our Members.
  • Determine which opportunities to pursue, in what order, and whether the right answer is to build, partner, or approach the problem another way.
  • Advance multiple strategic initiatives in parallel to maintain market leadership.

You are accountable for ensuring the ecosystem evolves at the pace required by the market and our Members.

2. Direct Leadership & Organizational Accountability

Directly manage:

  • Head of Point Solution Partnerships
  • Head of PBM Strategy & Partnerships
  • Head of TPA Relationship Management

You will:

  • Set clear priorities for each team and ensure they connect back to the broader ecosystem strategy
  • Establish measurable goals and hold the team accountable for delivering against them
  • Step in when performance is off track and help remove barriers to execution
  • Make sure the medical, pharmacy, and TPA teams are working together rather than operating as separate verticals
  • Develop the leaders on the team and raise the bar for the organization as it grows

In addition, you will assess organizational needs and advocate for team expansion or structural adjustments as the ecosystem grows.

You are responsible for building the right team to support the platform.

3. Full Executive Accountability for Partner Portfolio

You hold executive accountability for all ecosystem partners — existing and future — across:

  • Point solutions
  • PBMs
  • TPAs

This includes:

  • Building strong relationships with senior executives at our most important partners
  • Monitoring performance and stepping in when issues require executive attention
  • Personally leading our most important or complex commercial negotiations
  • Setting the strategy for renewals and renegotiations
  • Making the call when a partnership should expand, change materially, or end

Operational relationship management will continue within the team, but ultimate accountability sits with this role. This leader will personally engage where the stakes, complexity, or strategic importance of a partnership require senior executive involvement.

4. Build Best-in-Class Partner Management

Professionalize partner management as a core Pareto capability.

This includes:

  • Being clear about which partnerships are most strategically important and managing them accordingly
  • Establishing a consistent process for launching new partners and integrating them into our go-to-market approach
  • Creating meaningful partner scorecards and using regular meetings to address performance, opportunities, and issues
  • Establishing clear process, ownership and decision-making for renewals
  • Defining when and how partner issues get escalated
  • Making sure partners work effectively with the rest of the Savings Engine, not just within their individual area

The expectation is to institutionalize partner management as a scalable, repeatable discipline.

5. Commercial & Marketing Integration

Partner closely with Marketing and Commercial leadership to:

  • Make the Savings Engine story clear and compelling for Members, consultants, and prospects
  • Make it easier to understand how the different parts of the ecosystem fit together and why they matter
  • Increase Member adoption and utilization of the solutions we offer
  • Ensure the ecosystem continues to support Pareto's growth and retention goals

You are accountable for ensuring ecosystem strategy produces measurable commercial impact.

What Success Looks Like

  • A clearly articulated and executed 12- and 36-month ecosystem roadmap
  • Multiple strategic initiatives advancing simultaneously
  • Fully institutionalized partner management discipline
  • Strong, accountable TPA and PBM and point solution performance
  • Increased Savings Engine adoption and utilization
  • Clear market perception of Pareto as a differentiated and coordinated cost containment platform

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within the healthcare/insurance space
  • 10+ years of progressive people management experience, overseeing team performance, engagement, and growth
  • Deep experience in self-funded employer health benefits
  • Strong understanding of stop-loss economics and claims dynamics
  • Experience leading across PBMs, TPAs, and medical cost containment ecosystems
  • Proven ability to scale partner portfolios and teams
  • Executive presence with internal and external stakeholders
  • Bias toward parallel execution and disciplined growth

This is a platform-shaping leadership role with enterprise-level impact.

We are guided by our values:

Fire in the belly

The drive to learn, to improve, and to deliver outstanding value every day.

See the field

The ability to see the big picture and prepare to meet tomorrow’s needs.

Get it done right

The passion to produce at higher rates and to the highest standards.

For the greater good

A united community creating better health benefit solutions for all.
