Product Designer (Part-Time Contract)

About us:

Parsley Health is reimagining primary care around root-cause, functional medicine. We help members get to the why behind their symptoms by combining medical doctors, health coaches, and modern tooling to deliver care that conventional medicine often misses.

We're hiring a fractional product designer to be our design partner across the product, working directly with the founding team on whatever moves the needle next.

 

The opportunity:

• The contract is fully remote, but if you're based in NYC and open to visiting our office, that is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 hours per week — we'll shape the engagement around what works for you beyond that floor. Could be more hours, could be project-shaped.
• The hourly rate for this contract is between $75-$200 per hour, depending on expertise and industry experience.  

 

What you’ll do:

We're focused on three things, and you'll shape all of them:

• Growth — the marketing site, acquisition flows, and everything that turns curiosity into committed membership.
• Clinician tools for delivering functional medicine — the software our doctors and health coaches live in every day.
• Member experiences for success in functional medicine — the app and portal, where labs, protocols, and long-term behavior change come together.
  
  

How we design with A.I.

Your shape of involvement is bookended. At the front of the process, you help us frame the problem and shape the approach. At the back, you review the big designs, keep them honest to our patterns, and evolve the component library when something new is called for. In between, our engineers are prototyping and shipping with AI every day — your leverage comes from codifying a clear point of view into skills, systems, and guardrails so they can produce work that feels unmistakably Parsley on their own.

 

What you’ll need:

• A strong product design toolkit. You can take something from rough hypothesis through framing, wireframes, polished UI, prototype, and handoff. You're fluent across IA, interaction, and visual craft. You work with AI as a collaborator, and you're a natural mentor to engineers prototyping with it. Your work doesn't need a caretaker.
• An entrepreneurial mindset. We'll often hand you an abstract goal — "make onboarding feel like a relationship, not a form" — and trust you to come back with a concrete way forward. You're comfortable with ambiguity, you ask sharp questions, and you ship.
• Healthcare or health tech experience is a plus.
