Change Practitioner
Change Practitioner
Why This Role Matters
The Change Practitioner is the hands-on delivery arm of the transformation office's Change function. Reporting to the CTO and assigned to a cluster of initiatives, you'll turn our enterprise change method into on-the-ground execution: the stakeholder plans, communications, enablement, and adoption tracking that make sure a delivered initiative is actually used.
The role exists because value is downstream of behavior. An initiative that ships but isn't adopted captures nothing, and you're the person who closes that gap on the work you own. This is an execution role that operates with independence in a fast-moving, often ambiguous environment.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Conduct change impact assessments on assigned initiatives: who is affected, how their work changes, and where adoption risk concentrates.
- Translate the enterprise change approach into an initiative-level change plan with clear milestones tied to the delivery schedule.
- Identify the ability, motivation, sponsorship, and reinforcement gaps that would stall adoption, and build the plan to close them.
- Map stakeholders and their influence, and keep the map current as initiatives move.
- Equip and prompt active, visible sponsorship from the leaders who own the change, and flag when sponsorship goes passive.
- Manage resistance directly: surface it early, understand the root cause, and work it rather than escalating it.
- Partner with the Communications function to sequence messaging to change milestones — you drive the content need, Communications owns the channel and calendar.
- Build and deliver enablement activities so people have the skills, tools, and time to work the new way.
- Prepare the organization for go-live: readiness checks, cutover support, and hypercare.
- Define and track adoption metrics such as usage, cycle time, and error rates — not survey sentiment alone.
- Report readiness and adoption to the CTO and the initiative owner, and call slippage before it hits benefit.
- Build the reinforcement mechanisms that make reverting to the old way have a consequence, so the change sticks after go-live.
Who You Are
- Applies a structured change methodology (Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent) with discipline, and adapts it to the situation rather than running it by rote.
- Builds trust quickly with stakeholders at every level, from executive sponsors to front-line teams.
- Reads an organization: senses where resistance and adoption risk sit before they show up in the metrics.
- Communicates clearly and calmly, especially when the change is unwelcome.
- Measures adoption honestly and reports it straight, including when the news is bad.
- Works independently on assigned initiatives.
What You Bring
Day One:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years delivering organizational change management on enterprise or cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience building and executing stakeholder, communications, and adoption plans end to end.
- Track record of measuring and improving adoption of new processes or systems, not just launching them.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with limited direction.
Valuable Additions:
- Change management certification (Prosci/ADKAR or equivalent).
