The Platform Team @ Pave

The Platform team sits at the epicenter of Pave Engineering. As a member of the Developer Platform team, you will be tasked with designing and implementing scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and creating the development tooling and processes that enable Pave engineers to ship enterprise-quality software with high velocity. You will play a technical leadership role by providing design and architectural guidance to product teams, establishing foundational technologies, patterns, and practices, and helping to shape Pave’s technical roadmap.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in backend software development. 
  • Experience using observability tooling to monitor, profile, and optimize web applications.
  • Experience incorporating security best practices in large technical designs.
  • High developer empathy. Passionate about improving the quality of life of fellow engineers.
  • Experience leading large technical projects with high ambiguity and numerous stakeholders.
  • Execution oriented. Eager to not only design technical solutions, but also dive into the technical weeds and drive implementation

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Architect, build, and manage enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure to support the security & compliance requirements of Pave’s largest, most sophisticated customers.
  • Develop a best-in-class development experience, equipping engineers with the tooling that enables rapid, high-quality software development.
  • Develop foundational components and patterns, with built-in security, observability, and performance, that allows product engineers to focus on driving customer value. 
  • Define Engineering best practices and drive adoption across the organization.

Compensation, It's What We Do.

This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, commuter benefits, catered lunch, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits.

$195,500 - $264,500 USD

We’re headquartered in San Francisco’s FiDi neighborhood, with additional offices in New York City and regional hubs in Salt Lake City and the United Kingdom.  We embrace a high-energy, collaborative in-person work environment at these locations, operating on a hybrid schedule that brings teams together in-office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

What can I expect in interviewing at Pave? 

At Pave, we value intellectual honesty and transparency, and we bring this to our interview process. Throughout your time interviewing with us, we will be evaluating where you can best make an impact through multiple conversations with your recruiter, hiring manager, peers, cross-functional partners, and leadership. We also use our interviews to determine leveling, which is finalized at the end of your interview process by your hiring manager. The majority of our roles have 3-5 interview rounds. You can expect to hear back from our team within 2 days after each interview round. Once we extend an offer, we hope to hear back from you within 3 days. It is extremely important to us that we find a great mutual fit - we’re excited to get to know you!
