We are currently seeking to add an Environmental Health and Safety Trainer to add to our dynamic team in Portland, Oregon.
$75,000 to $95,000 annually, full time, in the office, with benefits.
This position is responsible for translating OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements into meaningful and engaging training. PBS, an Apex Company, provides training for 8/24/40-hour HAZWOPER, AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner, Project Designer, Asbestos Abatement Worker/Supervisor Refresher, Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor, First Aid/CPR/AED, and for a wide variety of other OSHA compliant safety topics.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, construction or related field
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
- Instructional design and delivery; ability to create and deliver engaging and effective training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written skills using Microsoft Office
- Problem-solving skills: the ability to identify and address safety issues and develop solutions
- Ability to lift to 35 pounds
- Authorization to work in the US and Valid Driver’s License
Desirable Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish) not required
- Current certification or ability to obtain certification for HAZWOPER, OSHA 10- or 30-hour course, AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor
- Familiarity with professional course development and hands-on exercise drills
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full time instruction delivering training to meet regulatory and industry requirements
- Hands-on instruction; conduct safety drills
- Development of the initial curriculum and updates to refresher curriculum
- Opportunities to perform regulatory review/compliance investigations or other Industrial Hygiene work
- Some travel required within Oregon and Washington

$75,000 - $95,000 USD
