Operations Analyst

Join our Operations & Technology team as an Operations Analyst (15-month contract), where you’ll support the day-to-day rhythms of investment operations, help resolve system and data issues, and contribute to process improvements. You’ll work closely with experienced teammates in a collaborative environment as you build your technical and business skills. 

 

What You Will Do

Operational Support & Daily Activities

  • Be a first point of contact for day-to-day questions, triaging issues and escalating more complex items to senior team members. 
  • Help log, track, and triage JIRA tickets, gathering details and escalating as needed to support timely resolution. 
  • Support data quality work by following documented procedures, running basic checks, and helping maintain simple audit trails. 
  • Assist with process and workflow updates by documenting current steps, suggesting improvements, and testing changes with guidance from the team. 
  • Support audit readiness by organizing files, reconciling routine data items, and ensuring documentation is complete and easy to find.
  • Work with third-party vendors by coordinating logistics for system upgrades, maintenance, and testing (e.g., scheduling, checklists, and status updates).
  • Help keep forms, filing structures, business rules, and workflows up to date by applying requested changes and documenting updates.
  • Assist in investigating data integrity issues by reproducing problems, collecting examples, and tracking next steps through to resolution.
  • Support client-facing platforms by troubleshooting access and data issues, documenting what you find, and helping gather requirements for future enhancements. 

Project & Strategic Initiatives

  • Support projects by helping gather requirements, updating project trackers, and flagging risks or dependencies to the project lead.
  • Collaborate with teammates to run analyses, validate results, and translate findings into clear takeaways for stakeholders.  
  • Support project execution through stakeholder communications, meeting coordination, and follow-ups.
  • Help create and maintain project documentation, including requirements notes, plans, and meeting minutes.
  • Assist with testing system and process changes by following test scripts, capturing evidence, and documenting results and defects.

What You Bring

  • Proactive & Self-Directed – You take initiative on assigned work, follow through on details, and seek out information to keep work moving.
  • Process Improvement Mindset – You look for ways to make day-to-day work smoother and more consistent, and you can manage multiple small improvements in parallel.
  • Foundational Data Skills – You’re comfortable working with data to answer questions and spot issues. You have strong Excel skills and some exposure to SQL and/or Python through coursework, projects, or internships/co-ops.
  • Exposure to BI & Automation Tools – Familiarity with Power BI and/or Power Automate is a strong asset. You’re interested in learning how to visualize data and streamline recurring tasks through automation.
  • Education – Undergraduate university degree, preferably in a related field. (Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Statistics)
  • Industry Knowledge – 0 to 2 years of experience in financial services is an asset (including relevant internship/co-op experience). 

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 annually. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
