Summer 2027 Quantitative Research Intern
Eligibility: Current PhD or Postdoc in Math, Science, Engineering and other relevant disciplines who are eligible for full-time roles starting in 2027 - 2029.
Program Length: 10 Weeks (Early June – Mid August)
PDT Partners, a quantitative investment manager, is hiring exceptional academics, PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers for our Quantitative Research internship program.
At PDT, research is rigorous, methodical, and deeply collegial. Research is cumulative by nature; whether an inquiry yields a breakthrough or simply opens new lines of questioning, we learn, iterate, and move forward together.
Research Interns will work closely with senior researchers on our trading strategies and models. Projects are substantive and varied, spanning statistical modeling, new signal research, and the development and optimization of trading strategies. Interns will engage with large-scale datasets and state-of-the-art technology, supported by significant computational resources. Beyond the research itself, you will become part of PDT's broader academic culture through intern and company-wide events that nurture collaboration, curiosity, and community.

- Strong mathematical and analytical foundation with strong exceptional problem-solving and modeling ability
- Technically strong, with programming experience in (Python, R, Matlab, C++) and a genuine interest and experience in working with technology and large data sets
- Exceptional communicator, comfortable presenting complex ideas and collaborating in whiteboard-style settings
- Meticulous and detail-oriented, and innately driven to understand issues deeply

The salary for this role is $200,000. This amount is not inclusive of any potential bonus amounts.
