Role Summary
Role: CAD Designer - Contract
Location: Fremont, CA.
Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced CAD Contractor to support the design and development of detailed technical drawings and plans for automotive components and systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with our engineering team to produce accurate and precise CAD models and drawings that adhere to project specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed CAD drawings, models, and layouts for automotive components and systems based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project specifications and translate them into technical drawings.
- Revise and update existing CAD drawings to reflect changes and improvements.
- Ensure all drawings comply with automotive industry standards and company guidelines.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage and organize CAD files and documentation within the 3DX PLM meeting business rules.
- Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of prototypes and production processes as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest CAD software and technologies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer or CAD Contractor in the automotive industry.
- Strong Proficiency in CATIA 2D and 3D environments.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawing standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot design issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- A degree or certification in CAD design, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CATIA V6, Power Copies, GSD, Relational Design & Publications.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience with the 3DX PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system is a plus.
Hourly Rate
$60 - $80 USD
