What you will do:

  • Evaluate children using appropriate testing protocols, tools, etc. to follow funding guidelines for each particular child
  • Complete audit form to be turned in with each evaluation
  • Create appropriate goals/objectives to be turned in with each evaluation
  • Schedule children onto caseload by contacting the parent/guardian
  • Provide therapy services to children based on the recommended number of units from evaluations and prescriptions
  • Provide therapy services in a variety of settings including home, daycare, schools, outpatient clinic, community, etc.
  • Provide documentation of all therapy services by locking and electronically signing weekly progress notes
  • Update and turn in efficiency reports weekly
  • Update schedule on the server
  • Enter scheduled evaluations on the server
  • Provide administration with updated credentials as needed
  • Ensure that non-treatment time is reported to and approved by administration per policy. Enters all non-treatment time into deTASO
  • Complete additional paperwork requirements in an accurate and timely manner as notified by administration. These requirements include, but are not limited to:
    • Annual re-evaluations
    • Six-month progress notes
    • Discharge Summaries
    • Early Intervention paperwork (if needed) 
  • Be available to provide occupational therapy services and other related duties (meetings, conferences, etc.) during the days and hours stipulated in the employment agreement
  • Be available to children and families to ensure continuity of care and proper management of treatment

What you have:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
  • Must be able to work with children from birth to age 21 and their families
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license as approved by the Texas licensing board
  • Current NBCOT certification
  • Pediatric Experience (preferred)

 

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to maintain regular and punctual attendance. The employee is required to complete tasks in a timely manner.
