Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform warehouse functions and activities to support the manufacturing needs in accordance with the production schedule. The Warehouse Operator Level 1 is an entry level position and responsible for the handling and storage, picking and staging production orders, and receipt inventory put away of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products in accordance with standard operating procedures. This includes pulling, moving, storing materials (such as labels, raw materials, packaging components) physically and electronically in the inventory software management system. Assisting other warehouse operators in receiving/shipping process, operating equipment, inventory transactions, staging for quality sampling, keep warehouse organized and clean, and other duties depending upon assignment. This is done in a team-based environment by working closely with others for the common goals of the department. All responsibilities and activities are performed in compliance with all FDA Regulations, cGMP guidelines, and company and departmental operating policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
- Ability to print orders and accurately prepare and stage material batch orders for delivery or pickup according to production or customer schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship, clean pallets, and containers/boxes).
- Prepares required documentation, checks accuracy of documentation, and maintains records for all company documents per cGMP standards.
- Assist with receiving process, safely unloading truck, stage, and verify receiving incoming product is correct, count is accurate per shipment documents, and inspect for any damage.
- Accurately identify and label all received incoming products and shrink wrap pallets, put away and perform inventory transactions utilizing scan gun.
- Efficiently and accurately report discrepancies, troubleshoot problems, and escalate appropriately.
- Efficiently and accurately put away material returns and received product; sort, organize, store, and scan inventory per correct temperature and designated location within the inventory management system.
- Move inventory and materials across facilities, staging areas, or other locations as needed and perform accurate scan gun inventory transactions.
- Ability to handle material with care to prevent any damage and safely stack and unstack materials and place pallets with product into material racks.
- Operate and maintain preventive checklists for warehouse equipment (Forklifts, manual pallet jacks, electronic pallet jacks, Floor Scrubber, etc.).
- Ability to apply learned skills and demonstrate knowledge of the several types of products and their packaging requirements.
- Participate with inventory audits and cycle counts. Report any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Pays attention to detail to ensure proper movement of inventory and accuracy of inventory.
- Communicate effectively orally, in writing, and electronically and work collaboratively with other departments (ie. sales team, logistic team, and other departments) to fulfill all orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Actively participates in all company and departmental meetings.
- Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. This includes wearing PPE for department and PPE per the product safety data sheet. Report any safety concerns and escalate to the supervisor/manager.
- Perform housekeeping duties per facility check sheets and maintain a clean, organize, and safe working environment.
- Effectively manage and dispose of waste, expired, or damaged goods in accordance to cGMP guidelines and Standard Operating Standards.
- Follow and comply with FDA cGMP guidelines and company procedures, rules and regulations.
- And any other assignments or activities needed to help drive and meet the department and organization’s goals.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Experience: Minimum 1yr. prior warehouse experience.
- Preferred Experience: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks (manual and electric), and computer-based inventory systems.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Complete and obtain Forklift Certification.
- Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
- Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail and accurately maintains documentation and GMP Records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with MS Office products (specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel), and inventory management system.
- Ability to read information and apply what was described in the reading material to situations which may contain several details or describe processes involving several steps.
- Demonstrate ability to perform basic math functions using a calculator (add, subtract, multiply, divide, rounding, etc.).
- Ability to adapt and be flexible with daily work assignment changes as well as a continuously improving work environment.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule. Overtime might be required for this position.
