The Opportunity:
The Performance Creative Strategist will lead the development and execution of data-driven paid creative strategies designed to drive growth for Pela and Lomi. This role is crucial in identifying and amplifying high-performing content for paid social campaigns, ensuring that creative decisions are backed by performance data. Reporting to the Director of Growth and eCommerce, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Brand and Content Manager and the Creative Team to continuously refine strategy, monitor creative performance, develop net new concepts, iterate, and optimize performance creative. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in performance marketing, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to translate data insights into actionable creative recommendations that fuel growth.
The Responsibilities:
- Identify and amplify high-performing content across paid social channels (Meta, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) to drive growth for Pela and Lomi, using performance data to inform creative direction and iteration.
- Create clear, compelling paid social creative briefs that align with business goals, ensuring seamless execution across channels. You are a person who can take creative insights and turn them into actionable insights
- Manage and develop creative briefs for internal teams and external content creators, ensuring they are grounded in data insights and aligned with business goals, while continuously optimizing creative approaches based on performance trends and learnings.
- Analyze paid social ad performance to generate actionable insights that inform future creative decisions, iterating on formats and messaging that yield the best results.
- Take winning creative and make recommendations for new hooks, edits, and formats to further enhance performance and audience engagement.
- Collaborate with the Director of Growth to review ad performance, iterate on creatives, and optimize based on data insights.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and data-driven methodologies within the paid social landscape to proactively identify growth opportunities and new formats for testing.
- Foster a culture of data-driven experimentation, optimizing creative strategies in line with performance results and business objectives.
- Leverage data to guide creative diversity, ensuring varied formats (e.g., lo-fi/hi-def videos, creator partnerships, static ads) are tested and optimized based on performance metrics.
- Work with the influencer team to source creator-driven content for white-listed or partnership ads.
- Partner with and manage creative agencies to ensure strategic alignment and deliver quality creative output.
- Collaborate with a team of video editors, optimizing footage for ads with the help of freelance editors.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, with a focus on creative strategy, preferably within an e-commerce or high-growth startup environment.
- Proven track record of developing and executing creative strategies that have driven significant brand growth.
- Expertise in growth marketing frameworks, especially the build-measure-learn methodology.
- A strategic thinker with a strong creative background, capable of leveraging content to drive measurable business results.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, derive insights, and optimize creative performance.
- Ability to gain a deep understanding of Pela's core customers and continuously identify new audiences for paid channels in collaboration with product and growth teams.
- Experience in leading and mentoring high-performing creative teams.
- Excellent collaboration skills across marketing, product, creative, data, and other teams to drive cross-channel performance.
- Up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in creative and growth marketing.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong project management skills and ability to multitask.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Demonstrated ability to track and measure the impact of creative efforts on performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Looker Studio, META, and digital marketing platforms.
- Experience with media planning, KPI setting, budget allocation, and forecasting.
- Hands-on experience with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and project management tools like Asana, Monday.com, or Notion.
