The Opportunity: 
Are you passionate about creating content that captivates audiences and goes viral? Do you have a knack for telling stories that resonate and engage? Reporting to the Brand Marketing Manager as our Content Creator & Social Media Specialist you will be instrumental in creating compelling content. You will be shaping and executing our social content strategies to support growth.  We’re looking for a creative and results-driven content creator who excels at making content that spreads like wildfire and reaches new audiences. Your primary focus will be on crafting compelling content that shares our story across various social media platforms. Building a strong and engaged community through original content creation, social scheduling, creating post copy, and online community engagement is a vital part of the role. This role will be required to be in Kelowna's office weekly for shoot setups, design mapping, and creative line plan execution. While we work flexibly the creative team, studio and equipment are local, thus regular in-office time will be required. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation:
    • Create video and still assets for social media use, including branded graphics, designs, and writing engaging copy for any post to engage and build our social audience.
    • Own the content creation, posting, and coordination of content across various social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc., based on a content calendar reflecting seasonality, campaigns, and product launches.
    • Responsible for organizing, producing, editing, scriptwriting, scheduling, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to execute video/photography needs.
    • Responsible for leading and staying up to date on trends to create relevant and engaging content for paid and organic purposes.
  • Social Media Management:
    • You thrive from being at the forefront of understanding trends. You understand the algorithms, how to optimize organic reach, grow an audience, drive engagement, and explore new opportunities/channels for the brand to come to life
    • Maintain a content calendar and social media publishing schedule based on seasonality, campaigns and product launches; own content creation, posting, and communications across social media channels (ie. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
    • Social media project management including ensuring projects are delivered on time and in line with social strategy and brand guidelines; communications, product, and asset coordination for giveaways
    • Ensure our global brand identity/messaging is consistent across regions for our social media content marketing. Responsible for all proactive and positive community management for public and private messages on social media platforms.
    • Track performance on key platforms and share trend insights to optimize content success and community reach
    • Liaise across cross-functional teams including the Customer Experience Team to triage community feedback, contests and questions
    • Representing the company on-location at local events as required
    • Understand related categories and related brands and competitors by completing ongoing social listening and social competitor analysis

Qualifications

  • Regularly creates content at speed 
  • Agency or large brand experience an asset
  • Masterful stakeholder management skills
  • Passionate learner, ability to stay informed about trends in social media, algorithms, and emerging platforms 
  • Proficiency in integrating insights into actions
  • Effective project management skills and strong organizational abilities
  • Proficient in tracking performance, analyzing data and synthesizing trends, 
  • Innovative thinking and agile problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high-quality standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Understanding of cultural nuances
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
  • Strength in building and maintaining positive relationships
  • BONUS: Built a following from scratch (personal and/or professional)
  • BONUS: Has a strong online presence and a history of creating content (personal and/or professional)
  • This role is Kelowna/Okanagan-Valley based - hybrid role

Salary: $55,000-78,000 CAD
