
Technical Recruiter
Overview of the Role
We are looking for an exceptional Tech Recruiter to elevate our hiring engine and help Pelago compete for top technical talent across NYC, London, and other strategic markets. This is a hands-on role focused on both immediate impact and long-term capability building: you will deliver high-quality hires while strengthening our sourcing strategies, assessment processes, and AI-augmented recruiting systems.
In this role, you will build and activate strong talent networks, engage passive candidates with intention and consistency, and partner closely with hiring leaders to maintain a high bar for technical excellence. You will also help refine our employer brand by ensuring that Pelago’s mission, values, and culture show up clearly and credibly throughout the candidate experience.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong execution with thoughtful systems thinking: someone who is energized by finding great people, improving the way we do it, and representing Pelago’s mission with clarity and care.
This is a hybrid role with a high-collaboration rhythm (3 days/week in our NYC office).
In this role you will…
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for technical and product roles across Pelago's U.S., U.K., and remote markets, delivering exceptional hires while maintaining our high talent bar
- Build and activate robust talent networks through intentional outreach, creative sourcing strategies, and consistent relationship nurturing with passive candidates
- Partner closely with hiring managers to deeply understand role requirements, team dynamics, and technical needs while ensuring alignment on excellence standards
- Elevate our recruiting capabilities by optimizing AI-augmented tools, refining assessment processes, and enhancing workflows that improve efficiency without compromising quality
- Strengthen Pelago's employer brand through thoughtful candidate engagement and authentic storytelling that credibly conveys our mission and culture
- Provide market intelligence and maintain operational excellence through clear communication, data-informed decisions, and continuous process refinement
The background we are looking for…
- 4+ years of technical recruiting experience, with demonstrated success in competitive talent markets
- Deep expertise sourcing and assessing engineering, product, and data talent across various seniority levels
- Track record of building and nurturing talent networks that yield consistent, high-quality hires
- Natural relationship builder who engages candidates with intention and maintains connections over time
- Systems thinker who balances strong execution with process improvement and optimization
- Experience implementing or optimizing recruiting technology and AI-enabled tools
- Ability to uphold exceptional talent standards while moving with appropriate speed
- Equally comfortable with high-touch candidate engagement and scalable process design
- Bonus: demonstrated success sourcing in NYC and London talent markets

The provided range reflects our US target salary range for this full-time position, which is part of our broader total compensation package, including incentive bonus program, stock options, comprehensive benefits, and incentive pay applicable to eligible roles. Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors. At Pelago, we are committed to an equitable and fair pay philosophy and review total compensation for our employees at least twice a year.
Base Pay Range
$135,000 - $145,000 USD
