Fund Controller 

The Role

HarbourView Equity Partners (https://www.harbourviewequity.com/) is seeking a Fund Controller to join the Finance team. You will work both independently and collaboratively, and in liaison with the fund administrator to assist the HarbourView CFO with all accounting and financial reporting responsibilities for current and future funds.

What You Will Do

• Ensure the timely delivery of accurate GAAP-based financial statements to internal and external stakeholders
• Daily recording of all financial transactions on a US GAAP basis for funds and related entities
• Manage the month end close process - forecast, ledger, actuals, etc.
• Preparation of:
  • quarterly and annual fund financial statements and reports
  • Net Asset Value calculations
  • individual partner capital statements
  • management fee and carry calculations
  • capital call and distributions
  • profit and loss and AUM reports
  • calculation of fund performance reports
  • monthly bank and brokerage account reconciliation
  • cash, position, and other reconciliations
  • processing and calculating dividend, interest and other fee accruals
• Assist the CFO with the interim / year end audit and tax processes
• Own the Invoice and Expense process of organizing, allocating, recording and payments
• Assist with special projects as assigned by the CFO - including but not limited to special client reporting, tax analysis of fund products, audits, etc.

What You Have

• 6+ years of combined experience in both public accounting and private Investment/Fund/Financial Services Industry; Credit Fund experience a plus
• Bachelor’s (or graduate) degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field
• Strong Excel modeling skills
• Experience with royalty payments and data a big plus
• Experience in annual budgeting and planning, cash flow projections, accounting policies and procedures, etc.
• Experience with project management delivery principals/methodologies a plus
• Experience with preparation of fund reporting across asset classes
• Collaborative mindset and ability to deliver as part of a team or working individually
• Strong focus on driving operational excellence with a superior attention to detail
• Ability to utilize a proactive approach to solve complex financial problems
