Summary of Position:  

 

The Incentives associate manager is an experienced marketing manager who will drive national consumer promotions, with a primary focus on incentives. In this role you will develop and implement national consumer incentive plans, advise on strategy, and work closely with brand teams to deliver effective, business-driving activations. This role will also require seasoned presentation and story-telling skills that will be used to “sell in”  plans with various levels of leadership. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 -5 years’ of experience in consumer promotions/incentives, be highly organized and be an excellent communicator, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. In addition, you should be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and be able to quickly adapt to changing environments.

 Key Responsibilities and Attributes:

  • Create incentives strategy and fiscal year plan for brand that fits the business objectives and KPIs
  • Work closely with brand teams to create consumer-first strategies, ideas, and plans
  • Present plan performance and adjustments to brand leadership on a frequent basis
  • Evaluate plan performance and delivery to make real-time updates and optimizations
  • Being comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and being able to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Champion innovative ideas across relevant channels and tactics, especially:

o Targeted incentives

o Shopper marketing

o Ecommerce

  • Be an incentives expert by consistently:

o Being curious about consumers and their interests and motivations

o Monitoring competitive activity and leveraging data, analytics and insights to identify opportunities and programming optimizations

o Partnering with our vendors to maximize their respective insights and capabilities

o Identifying trends to anticipate the future and gaining advantage via test and learn

  • Serve as key point of contact and connection with one or more external incentives vendors
  • Work with cross-functional partners to measure and refine strategies and executions
  • Capture and share learning and best practices with brand teams and incentives peers
  • This role may also have direct reports, who also work in the planning and strategy space

A successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Preferred, but not required: 3+ years’ experience in incentives and consumer promotions strategy and execution in the consumer-packaged goods space
  • Strategic Mindset: See ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
  • Business Insight: Apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals
  • Strong Communication and Strategic Influencing: Ability to “sell in” and support change agenda across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizer and communicator, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel. Above average proficiency in Excel is required. Typing skills should be a minimum of 55 wpm.
