Overview

Peregrine Health is seeking an Accounting Manager to assist in leading day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on management role with ownership of the monthly close, external audit and tax coordination, and grant funding administration. The Accounting Manager will play a central role in strengthening the company's financial processes and controls as the organization grows. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and month-end close 
  • Present monthly financial results and key business metrics to executive leadership team 
  • Prepare monthly written financial summaries for the CEO, highlighting key results, trends, and areas requiring attention 
  • Supervise, develop, and review the work of accounting staff 
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by accounting team members 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external audit and tax firms, including managing document requests, coordinating fieldwork, and preparing audit-ready workpapers, including coordinating a federal compliance audit if required by grant spending levels 
  • Manage grant funding accounting, including tracking awards, monitoring allowable costs, preparing grant financial reports, and ensuring compliance with state requirements 
  • Act as the organization’s named Grant Financial Manager, holding defined requisition approval authority and accountable for segregation-of-duties compliance 
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls 
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience 
  • Experience with grant management accounting, including federal grant compliance (e.g., Uniform Guidance / 2 CFR 200) and financial reporting for grant-funded programs, with prior exposure to a federal compliance audit 
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations, including affiliated professional corporations or similar structures tied through management services agreements (MSAs) 
  • Familiarity with federal grant compliance requirements (e.g., Uniform Guidance / 2 CFR 200) 
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP 
  • Proficiency in Excel 

Preferred 

  • CPA (active or inactive) 
  • External audit experience or experience managing an audit from the client side 
  • Experience with NetSuite and Rippling  
  • Healthcare or nonprofit industry experience
