Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Review work prepared by the team and provide constructive feedback to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)

  • Own revenue accounting for subscription and usage‑based SaaS models.
  • Review customer contracts for appropriate revenue treatment under ASC 606.
  • Manage deferred revenue schedules and ensure accurate revenue cutover and allocation.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for revenue-related questions across the team.

People Management & Team Development

  • Directly manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentorship, and career development guidance.
  • Conduct recurring 1:1 meetings, performance check‑ins, and goal‑setting conversations.
  • Set clear expectations, delegate effectively, and ensure accountability for deliverables.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members, reinforcing best practices and documentation.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Evaluate and enhance accounting workflows to support scalability and team efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and leverage automation.
  • Assist with the implementation or optimization of accounting systems.
  • Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and review procedures.

Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare audit schedules and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.
  • Coordinate audit requests across the team and ensure timely, accurate responses.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Support FP&A with actuals, variance analysis, and budgeting inputs.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, and Operations to provide accounting guidance on new product features, pricing models, or monetization changes.
  • Help translate accounting requirements for non‑finance stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, and subscription billing.
  • Experience with modern accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance accuracy and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes and scaling accounting operations.
Nice to Have
  • Experience at a high‑growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Familiarity with metrics such as ARR, churn, net retention, etc.
  • Experience scaling or rebuilding accounting processes as a team grows.
  • Experience with automation or workflow tools.

We offer a salary range of $90,000–$110,000 USD per year, with compensation tailored to your background, strengths, and growth potential. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and is based on market data, internal equity, and the scope of responsibilities. Compensation is determined by several factors, including experience, skills, and team impact. We regularly review compensation to ensure fairness and consistency.
