Growth Marketer (Outbound)
Growth Marketer - Outbound
About Perform
Perform is a consulting and engineering partner helping organizations move from idea to working outcome — faster, with less noise, and with results that hold up under operational pressure. We bring AI strategy, custom software delivery, strategic consulting, and nearshore engineering talent together under one roof, so clients don’t have to bounce between firms to get from a question to a shipped solution.
We work with companies where workflow complexity, security, and ROI all matter — with particular strength in healthcare and banking, and a client base that includes TJ Maxx, AON, Cox, Paychex, Lowe’s, and Shutterfly. We’ve been doing this since 2005 and have delivered 1,000+ successful projects.
The Role
We’re looking for a Growth Marketer to build and run our outbound engine. This is a hands-on, in-the-tools role — not a strategy-deck role. You’ll own list-building, data enrichment, sequencing, copy, and reporting, and you’ll work directly with the CEO and our content lead to keep the funnel moving.
If you have built outbound from zero before — ideally at a small consulting or B2B services firm — and you actually enjoy the craft of cold outbound (the data work, the testing, the obsession with reply rates), we want to talk.
What You’ll Own
- ICP and list-building. Define and continuously refine our ideal customer profiles within mid-market banking and healthcare. Build target account lists and contact lists that match.
- Data enrichment and tooling. Run our outbound stack — Clay, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and similar — to enrich accounts and contacts with the signals that actually predict reply rates.
- Cold outbound campaigns. Write, launch, and iterate on cold email and LinkedIn sequences. Own subject lines, copy, cadence, and personalization at scale.
- Testing and optimization. A/B test relentlessly. Know your open rates, reply rates, and meeting-booked rates by segment, sequence, and message — and adjust weekly.
- Work with our team to set up a Slack bot (or similar) that reports key outbound metrics — volume, opens, replies, subject-line performance — on a regular cadence to the team.
- Handoff to sales. Make sure replies and booked meetings flow cleanly to the CEO and account team, with the right context.
- Channel partnerships (stretch). Help identify and warm up channel partners (vendors, integrators, advisors) who can introduce us into target accounts.
What You Bring
This role carries real ownership, and we’ve scoped it that way deliberately. The right person is someone who can already operate at that level, or who is clearly on that trajectory and ready to step up.
- 3+ years running outbound campaigns at a B2B SaaS, agency, consulting firm, or RevOps/growth team. You’ve personally sent and optimized thousands of cold emails.
- Strong working command of the modern outbound stack: Clay (or equivalent enrichment), Apollo / ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Nav, Smartlead / Instantly / Outreach / similar, and basic spreadsheet or SQL fluency.
- A real point of view on cold email copy. You can write a 70-word email that sounds like a human, gets replies, and doesn’t get flagged as spam.
- Comfort with deliverability fundamentals: domain warm-up, sending infrastructure, list hygiene.
- Data-driven by default. You instinctively reach for the numbers before opining.
- Self-managed and disciplined — this is a remote, contract-to-hire role, so we need someone who delivers without hand-holding.
- Light AI/automation chops — using LLMs to scale personalization, build research workflows, etc.
- Past experience at ColdIQ, Belkins, Martal, Lemlist, or a similar outbound-focused shop.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience selling into banking, financial services, or healthcare.
- Experience with channel/partner-led growth motions.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- A repeatable outbound motion is up and running, with stable deliverability and a documented playbook.
- Open, reply, and meeting-booked rates are tracked weekly and trending in the right direction.
- A meaningful share of Perform’s new-logo pipeline is sourced from outbound — not just referrals.
- Reporting (Slack bot or equivalent) gives the team real-time visibility into what’s working and what isn’t.
- You’ve built strong working relationships with the CEO, Content Marketing Lead, and AM team, and the handoff from reply to meeting to opportunity is clean.
How We Work
Perform is remote-first with our office in Milton, GA. This role is open to U.S.-based candidates. We’ll set weekly priorities together; the rest is up to you to execute. You’ll work closely with the CEO, our Content Marketing Lead, and our existing AI/marketing ops support. We are a growing company; expect the work to be fast-paced, high-trust, and lean on process. There is a clear path to a larger role (full-time, growth lead) if the function is working and you want it.
How We’ll Know You’re the One
These are the qualities we look for in the people who thrive at Perform:
- Customer Focus. Acts with customers in mind. Writes copy that respects the reader’s time and builds trust, not friction.
- Data Driven. Reaches for the numbers before opining. Lets reply rates, not opinions, drive the iteration.
- Treats outbound as a craft. Cares about list quality, copy, and deliverability the way a good engineer cares about code.
- Communicates compellingly. Uses evidence and judgment, not pressure. Adapts to the audience.
- Self-Directed. Takes initiative. Doesn’t wait to be asked. Spots problems and addresses them.
- Cool under pressure. Doesn’t get defensive when things get hard. Steady when stakes are high.
- Direct, honest, trustworthy. Keeps commitments. Owns mistakes.
- Work Ethic. Brings real energy. Operates well with minimum supervision. Goes the extra mile when it matters.
- Wants to grow — personally, professionally, and as part of a company that is going somewhere.
Why Perform
- A growing firm with established enterprise clients and a clear position in AI-era services.
- Four real service lines behind the marketing — AI, Build, Consult, Hire/Nearshore — so you have substantive work to talk about, not vaporware.
- Direct line to the CEO and delivery leaders. No bureaucracy between you and getting things done.
- Remote-first with the autonomy that comes with it.
- The opportunity to build and own a function as Perform grows.
