PDG is looking for 1099 Instructional Designers to join our network of talent to support PDG’s ongoing needs. The work to be performed will be on a project basis and will be paid on 1099. Travel may be required from time to time for client meetings. This job posting is to attract pipeline candidates only and not for a specific need.

Position Summary
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing learning assets that align with solutions across all modalities that meet learning objectives and improve performance.
As the voice of overall instructional design, the Instructional Designer is responsible for translating all design concepts into a detailed and buildable plan. The Instructional Designer is also responsible for ensuring all learning and performance improvement experiences align all assets into a consistent and comprehensive learning journey.
The Instructional Designer ensures that custom business performance solutions deliver high-quality engaging and effective learning that drives behavior change and is aligned with our client’s business needs and priorities. Key responsibilities of the Instructional Designer role include:
- Use sound instructional design processes and adult learning methodology to plan, design, and develop performance-driven learning solutions that drive behavior change.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Senior Instructional Designers in program design and measurement strategies. Partners with the Engagement Manager (EM), who oversees and manages the project.
Responsibilities
The Instructional Designer will:
- Perform the design function either as a single designer or as a member of a collaborative team.
- Present solution concepts and detailed designs to senior-level business owners and L&D stakeholders, representing the voice of instructional design.
- Apply instructional design approaches and PDG’s solutions frameworks to design and deliver learning assets and programs that create measurable business impact.
- Participate in brainstorming at the appropriate points of the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to building the learning journey and measurement strategy.
- Lead programs as a lead designer where you will:
- Assess client needs to determine appropriate performance interventions.
- Develop alliances and working relationships with subject matter experts.
- Write instructional content that is concise, engaging, and appropriate for the intended audience, purpose, and delivery method.
- Produce learning resources in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and other technologies.
- Create training content using custom storyboard templates.
- Provide instructional design support to all members of the internal and client-facing team.
- Work cross-functionally with creative and technical departments to build client solutions.
- Develop and participate in system and user acceptance testing.
- Ensure content accuracy and appropriateness, and provide quality control editorial support.
Requirements
Education and Professional Experience
The Instructional Designer has the following qualifications:
- A Bachelors in Solution Design, Solution Systems Design, English, Journalism, Business Administration, or other related disciplines or commensurate experience
- 3+ years’ experience in instructional design, instructional technology, or training and education
- 3+ years’ experience working in a consulting environment.
- A strong understanding of Learning Experience Design (LxD).
- A strong understanding of visual design, including strong PPT skills.
Experience working in the life sciences industry and/or designing learning solutions in support of sales performance initiatives is strongly preferred
