Job description:
Reporting to the VP Engineering, we are looking for a talented software+systems engineer to lead our Edge engineering discipline. This is a senior/staff level position where the ideal candidate will draw on their previous experience, theoretical and practical technical skills, and soft skills to help Hivestack scale multiple areas of its Edge tier which performs the advertisement bidding and delivery functions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Edge Discipline Lead:
- Creating and maintaining the long term edge architecture roadmap
- Promoting technical best practices throughout the discipline and organization
- Overseeing technological choices and implementation of ad bidding and delivery systems

- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL (PostGIS), Redis, DynamoDB, Redshift, Clickhouse, S3
- Data/Other: Spark/Scala, Python, SQL, Iceberg, Pandas, Scikit, Tableau, Redash, Quicksight, DuckDB, Snowflake
- Other tiers: Python/aiohttp, Go/gin, Javascript/VueJS, Swift,
- Test Frameworks: behave & Cypress
- Devops: CircleCI, Terraform
- Cloud: AWS: Fargate, EMR, Lambdas
What you’ll need to perform in this job:
- 10+ years of experience in adtech or a related field
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent Computer Science fundamentals with regards to data structures, algorithms, time complexity, etc.
- Experience designing and implementing high-volume low-latency architectures in adtech or similar fields
- Experience designing and implementing globally-distributed highly-available systems
- Experience owning engineering roadmaps and leading engineering teams
- Thorough understanding and work experience with at least one compiled programming language (Go, C/C++, Java, Rust)
- Strong understanding of the AWS cloud platform and its related services
- Ability to work independently and make use of your time effectively
