SUMMARY
Assist in the routine responsibilities and activities of Technical Design to facilitate the workload and work process from concept to production. As assigned, participate in special projects and analysis for Technical Design and the product creation team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in building and maintaining technical specifications for various products e.g., BOM, construction, measurements, cutting, packaging, and associated technical images, etc. according to established criteria.
- Assist in building and maintaining patterns from concept prototypes through final fit approval.
- Track shipping of physical samples e.g., prototype garments, styling/construction mock-ups, etc.
to appropriate recipients. - Assist in tracking and monitoring progress of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples
in relation to deadlines. - Assist in evaluating Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality.
- Learn to provide approval/rejection feedback of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality to appropriate recipients.
- Learn to provide technical and pattern guidance to appropriate recipients for Fit samples, Size Set samples
and Pre Production samples. - Participate in special assignments and projects in support of the Technical Design workload.
- Conduct research and create documentation for specific analysis in support of Technical Design and related areas.
- Learn/assist fit sessions with team members.
- Learn construction processes by utilizing the sample sew room to cut and sew samples.
SKILLS:
- Computer skills: Google Apps, Ms Windows, Adobe Illustrator, PLM, pattern design software (Optitex preferred)
- Basic pattern making experience
- Basic garment construction knowledge
- Basic garment fit experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical and mathematical skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities
- Dedicated team player
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree in Apparel Design, related apparel discipline or job related equivalent
- 0-1 years experience in technical design and pattern making
