SUMMARY
Administers employee health, welfare, and retirement benefits, as well as manages the Employee Leave of Absence
program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Your duties should reflect the most significant aspects of your job. Do not state
anything that requires less than 5% of your time.)
● Maintains benefit elections for new/eligible employees in the Oracle HR database as well as for each benefit
carrier elected by the employee
● New hire benefits enrollment process
● Tracks Covid-19 protocol process
● Ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and guidelines
● Audits and reconciles on a monthly basis the bill statements for each carrier and divisions
● Coordinates inter-office work flow to ensure the timely payment of the premiums statements
● Reviews and processes tuition reimbursements to ensure eligibility
● Processes disability, worker’s compensation claims and OSHA reports
● Works with insurance carriers to resolve issues regarding eligibility and claims
● Assists in the preparation of the yearly Open Enrollment
● Processes Cobra on a weekly basis
● FMLA – tracks employees’ forms and doctors notes upon departure and return from leave. Maintains current
knowledge of and ensures Credit Union compliance with applicable state and/or federal leave regulations.
● Tracks premium payments while employees are out on leave
● Coordinates the processing of beneficiary forms for Retirees yearly premiums
● Performs other related duties as assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
● General knowledge of Human Resources practices
● Skill and ability in providing excellent customer service
● Ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients
● Knowledgeable in Google Mail, Google Docs and Excel
● Ability to handle large volumes of work and be able to multitask
● Organizational skills to be able to prioritize work
● Knowledgeable in benefit regulations such as HIPAA, Cobra, FMLA
● Knowledge and skill in providing general correspondence
● Knowledge in Oracle database systems
● Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking,
talking and hearing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
● 2 to 4 years’ experience in Human Resources in the Benefits area
● Efficient in Excel
● Organizational skills required.
