SUMMARY
The IT Security Administrator is responsible for securing the IT environment and assisting in addressing any deficiencies in a timely manner. This position reports to the Director of IT Security, who oversees cyber security efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implementations of firewalls and site to site VPNs at worldwide offices and retail locations. Assisting in securing network infrastructure for various compliance requirements.
- Review and update secure firewall policies to meet business objectives (after IT Security management approval).
- Execute vulnerability assessments and security audits (using authorized tools) of global networks including network devices, servers and work with system admin teams to maintain compliance requirements.
- Monitor event logs and firewall rules, to identify possible security or performance problems.
- Monitor SIEM events and work with system admin teams to resolve those alerts.
- Create SIEM rules and dashboards to assist log monitoring and alerting. Create SOAR playbooks to take actions based on the SIEM alerts.
- Analyze network hardware, software and performance problems
- Create and maintain the enterprise’s security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures)
- Document security incidents and responses and take actions based on the Incident response plan.
- Be available to work off hours as required by projects or emergencies.
- Document all security and change management activities, making sure the proper written approvals are given prior to implementation.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, or a related field.
- Understanding of core network components.
- Microsoft domain functionality experience with Active Directory functionalities, Group Policies, DNS, and DHCP
- An understanding of PCI, GDPR, CCPA compliance requirements.
- Logical thinker, proactive in resolving problems and troubleshooting.
- Excellent analytical abilities, project and time management skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
- This position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking, talking and hearing.
- Ability to lift hardware up to 50lb
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Occasionally working in a data center is required, expect a louder and colder environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Honesty and integrity are a must and non negotiable.
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, or a related field.
- 2 to 3 years of work experience in the cyber security field.
- Ability to think critically and learn quickly.
