SUMMARY:
Responsible for achieving or exceeding quantified sales budges set for each account, by representing Perry Ellis International product, image, policies, goals and objectives, while maintaining the budgeted profit goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to cultivation of new accounts and opportunities to expand business with existing accounts.
- Identify and strategize means to penetrate new markets.
- Research and perform competitive analysis; monitor relevant trends and communicate to internal partners where appropriate.
- Collaboratively develop line plan, in context of larger assortment and cost structure, and customize to each customer; create and execute seasonal business proposals with suggested assortments based on marketplace
and customer base. - Enter all customer orders and work with sales associate to ensure timely allocation and shipment of all orders.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Design and Sourcing.
- Interact strategically with PEI upper management.
- Meet with retail buyers and upper management to present product deliveries on continuous basis and sell to achieve set budgets for each accounts
- Partner with the planning department to ensure gross margin goals are achieved
- Build, manage, and deliver budgets and sales forecasts
- Develop and present assortments with strong recommendations
- Pre-meeting preparation with those involved to strategize sales opportunities
- Sales presentation set up/follow through including: meeting agendas and meeting recaps that are proactive and results oriented
- Understand competitors strengths and weaknesses, look for the “white space” opportunities
- Inventory management - move ATS
- Manage showroom samples
- Ensure receipt of order distributions from customers and validate EDI orders. Notify Accounts of any
discrepancies - Maintain open order reports-modify dates as needed with approval of sales manager and the customer
SKILLS:
- Should possess excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
- Detailed oriented and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage accounts independently.
- Working knowledge of Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets and Google Apps.
- Knowledge of retail math.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business or related field.
- Must have a minimum of at least 5+ years experience in apparel or accessories sales and experience in managing multiple retail accounts.
- Domestic travel requirements 20-30%.
Salary offered will be commensurate with experience. For this New York based position, the expected base salary is $120,000 - $135,000.
