Position Overview:

Perry Ellis International, a global leader in lifestyle apparel, is seeking a LATAM Sales Manager to champion the Nike Swimwear brand across Central and South America. Based in Miami or within the LATAM region, you will be instrumental in expanding our brand presence and maximizing growth potential by cultivating strong distributor relationships and driving sales success. This role is perfect for a strategic individual with a proven track record in distributor management, sales target achievement, and a deep understanding of the Central and South American retail landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Distributor Management: Identify, attract, sign, and effectively manage new and existing distributor relationships throughout Central and South America.
  • Contract Facilitation: Act as the primary liaison for contract execution between the PEI legal team and distributors, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Regional Planning: Develop and implement strategic consumer and product plans tailored to the unique needs and opportunities within Central and South America.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with distributors to execute agreed-upon business strategies that drive significant growth for Nike Swim.
  • Sales Leadership: Drive wholesale sales through both retailers and distributors within the assigned region, consistently striving to exceed ambitious targets.
  • Business Development: Nurture the existing customer base while proactively identifying and pursuing new opportunities to accelerate the Nike Swim brand's growth.
  • Product Presentation & Education: Effectively present the wholesale Nike Swim product line to distributors and retailers, highlighting the brand's value proposition and relevant product features.
  • Distribution Compliance: Monitor retail store and e-commerce distribution activities diligently to ensure strict adherence to Nike Inc.'s distribution policies.
  • Marketing & Promotion Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with distributors and the PEI team on the development and execution of impactful marketing and promotional activities.
  • Order Management: Oversee PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) order management processes, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Customer Service & Operations: Manage all customer-related details, including daily order processing, credit management, shipping coordination, and labeling requirements.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate Certificates of Origin (COs), Import Licenses, Payment Terms, and Letters of Credit (LCs) as required for seamless logistics.
  • Forecasting & Goal Setting: Accurately forecast overall account business and establish ambitious yet achievable sales and product goals for each customer and region.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor competitive landscapes and emerging trends across the assigned regions, identifying new product needs and communicating them to the PEI merchandising team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience with a strong focus on the Central and South American regions.
  • Demonstrated sales experience within the LATAM region, coupled with a deep understanding of market dynamics.
  • Proven experience in establishing, developing, and managing successful distributor relationships.
  • Ability to comprehend, review, and effectively negotiate distributor contracts.
  • Exceptional ability to liaise effectively with retail customers, distributors, and internal PEI/Nike Swim teams.
  • Experience communicating clearly and effectively across multiple offices and diverse time zones.
  • Strong systems orientation and proficiency in utilizing relevant sales and business management tools.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience within the apparel industry is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing distributorships for a global brand.
