SUMMARY

Drive and execute a strategic plan for the category/categories in alignment with the overall Nike brand vision.  Consumer-focused and insights-driven merchant accountable to deliver against financial metrics, consumer needs, and business goals.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Your duties should reflect the most significant aspects of your job. Do not state anything that requires less than 5% of your time.)

Product Management Expertise

  • Hands - ownership in the overall product creation process for the category. 
  • Deliver a global merchandising strategy and distinctive product direction for the category. 
  • Be the expert on the target athlete and competitive marketplace.
  • Possess a keen eye for trends and a proven ability to capitalize trends into commercial opportunities that are consumer and brand right.   
  • Delivering comprehensive and compelling product briefs that include competitive analysis, consumer research, and defined business opportunity.
  • Build seasonal line plans that deliver on strategic priorities, consumer and retailer needs as well as hit financial targets and margin goals. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (Design, Technical Design, Product Development, Marketing, Sourcing) to ensure timely execution of key product management milestones is met within the seasonal end-to-end calendar.

Merchandising Prowess

  • Ensure products that are commercial, resonate with the consumer, are differentiated within the marketplace, priced appropriately, and deliver profitable growth.
  • Build curated and segmented assortments for a digitally connected global marketplace applying insights and knowledge to create a balanced product assortment.
  • Deliver and analyze post-season recaps in conjunction with inventory and planning to synthesize data and insights that drive future category strategy.
  • Accountable for hitting SKU targets with a thorough analysis of the data set.
  • Manage and maintain merchandising systems: PLM, NuOrder, MMX, LMS.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and support functions to ensure global testing & standards, labeling & packaging are met. 
  • Partner with Marketing on GTM, providing commercial teams and partners with tools to deliver compelling sell-ins. Actively participate in all Go to Market activities and tasks. 
  • Support Sales organization in all merchandising-related needs (samples, presentations, etc.)
  • Work with the Marketing team to bring product strategies to life in the marketplace.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of product development process for Women’s Apparel, Swimwear, Intimates
  • Compelling communicator.  Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Negotiates and influences skillfully to resolves conflict in challenging situations. 
  • Ability to interact with varying personalities

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 7-10 years merchandising experience, preferably in Women’s, Swimwear or related category
  • BA or BS Degree
  • Must have the ability to present a professional and informative product and trend assortment to internal and external audiences.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google and Adobe Illustrator
  • Knowledge of product development process and brand management
  • Proficient in retail math
