SUMMARY
Perry Ellis International is seeking a dynamic, high-performing sales professional to join their arsenal of golf brands featuring Callaway, PGA TOUR, & JACK NICKLAUS to name a few.. The ideal fit will have 5-10 years of “Off Price/ Value Channel” retail experience w/ a focus in “Ladies” athletic brand/golf brand sales experience. He or she will be responsible for managing an established client base, as well as proactively hunting and closing new business. The ideal candidate will have a history of bringing on new business, hitting sales quotas, and loves the challenges that come with prospecting in an ultra competitive market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with “Off Price/ Value Channel“ (i.e. TJX, ROSS, BURLINGTON, etc.) buyers, and upper management to present product releases on continuous basis, and sell to achieve set budgets for each account.
- Build and develop financial budgets by account, by brand, by product categories to ensure gross margin goals are achieved on a quarterly, and annual basis.
- Pre-meeting preparation with those involved to strategize and organize.
- Inventory management – move available to sell.
- Travel to accounts, and trade shows as necessary.
- Remain in frequent contact with the clients in your responsibility to understand their needs/ opportunities.
- Understand competitor’s strengths and weaknesses.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven “Off Price/ Value Channel” sales experience. (i.e. TJX, ROSS, BURLINGTON, etc.)
- 5 to 10 years experience in the “Off Price/ Value Channel” industry.
- Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles
- Demonstrates competency to anticipate and capitalizing on the changing dynamics of the marketplace
- Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
- Organizational and time-management skills
- A business acumen
- Strong cross-group collaboration experience, capable of engaging with merchandising, planning, marketing and support organizations.
- Enthusiastic, passionate and detail oriented.
- Position requires 10% travel.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Must possess excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills
- Detailed oriented and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage accounts independently
- Working knowledge of Google Applications.
- Advanced knowledge of retail math
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking, talking and hearing. (Domestic travel required 10% of the time and on occasion lift up to 70 lb sample cases.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Please indicate if a degree is required)
- 4 year college degree
- Minimum of 5 years proven record in Ladies “Value Channel” apparel sales and/or retail buying experience.
