Position Overview:
The Associate Business Planner is responsible for assisting with financial planning responsibilities for an account and works in partnership with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning and the retail accounts Buying and Planning teams. Partners with Sr Planner to report retailer sales, margin, and inventory financial plans for assigned retailers.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Sr. Planners and Account Executives to set and achieve sales, margin, inventory goals and brand strategies.
- Review weekly sales results from the account's selling reports. Monitor plans and OTD pricing, making callouts where necessary, to maximize sales and minimize margin giveback.
- Analyze the business to drive growth utilizing store, climate, volume group and overlay tools.
- Work with Division team members on solutions to maximize our internal sales & profitability. Candidates will also provide solutions for inventory sell off.
- Work with AE and the Design/Merchandise group on a monthly/quarterly basis to share selling information, category information, sku count recommendation, and opportunities for the following season.
- Meet with AE on a regular basis to discuss issues and opportunities.
- Determine style demand and inventory plans based on statistical forecasting inputs and historical trends
- Prepare ad hoc analysis as needed and fulfill other tasks as directed by management
- Work with Demand Planning and Sales to create assortment recommendations
- Partner to understand all components of inventory and work with team to maintain appropriate WOS to plan and LY
- Participate in pre-season planning for Replenishment, Key Items, and Assortment building at brand level with Merchandising and Sales
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of planning experience
- High level of understanding of retail math and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to analyze problems and solve both financial and merchandise issues.
- Be a self starter.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to set priorities to accomplish the task at hand.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis principles and experience with information systems.
- Experience using Anaplan and/or Business Objects.
- Experience with department stores.
