BKDR is a map-based web app that provides a social, queer, and sex-positive experience for users to connect with one another digitally and in real life. Above all, the goal is to allow users the freedom to express themselves according to their own level of sexual comfort — whether that be browsing discreetly or posting explicit imagery.

We are looking for a junior to mid level QA Manual Tester interested in learning and becoming a QA Engineer to test our new product BKDR.com, and our existing mobile apps SCRUFF and Jack’d. This position is fully-remote.

This role will work with the product, development, and support teams, to ensure the delivery of high quality apps free of bugs. This position will involve working throughout the lifecycle of a feature and epic from creation and development through release. Initial focus will be on manual testing but will eventually work with developers to build and create an automated testing framework.

This is a part-time role (25 hours/week) with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in the creation and estimation of stories ensuring they are testable
  • Run manual acceptance testing of all user stories in backlog
  • Build and run manual regression test suites
  • Work with developers and product managers to debug and triage issues

Who you are:

  • 2+ years of experience with manual testing
  • Strong knowledge of and experience using dating apps similar to SCRUFF, Jack’d, and/or BKDR.com
  • Experience with regression, charter, exploratory, smoke and other testing methodologies
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Previous experience in an Agile environment, including planning meetings, standups, and retrospectives
  • Strong passion for technology
  • Desire to learn new technologies and skills
  • Ability to collaborate remotely between the hours of 9a EST and 5pm EST (10a Brasil Standard Time and 6pm Brasil Standard Time)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin, or other testing frameworks
  • Experience with writing automated tests in Ruby, Javascript, Java, or Kotlin
  • Experience with writing mobile automated tests using Appium, may consider some experience with Selenium Web Testing
  • Able to run simple HTTP requests using cURL, Postman, or similar

Hourly Rate: $14 to $24 depending on experience and location
