The ideal candidate is a strategic, entrepreneurial leader with demonstrated success in securing large-scale gifts, cultivating senior-level partnerships, and leveraging sales/earned revenue opportunities alongside traditional philanthropy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Design and execute a comprehensive, diversified revenue strategy to reach annual goals of $3–5M, scaling to $9–12M by 2030.
  • Secure 6– and 7–figure philanthropic gifts while also partnering with national teams on major gifts, earned revenue opportunities, corporate sponsorships, and fee-for-service partnerships.
  • Partner with campus Managing Directors and national leadership to ensure revenue strategies align with organizational priorities and long-term growth.

Portfolio Leadership & Donor/Partner Management

  • Lead cultivation and stewardship of a robust portfolio of corporate, foundation, government, and individual funders.
  • Partner with the Sales team to grow earned revenue and corporate sales opportunities, including workforce partnerships, sponsorships, and other revenue-generating collaborations.
  • Represent Per Scholas at high-stakes meetings and events, serving as a trusted partner and ambassador for the organization.
  • Sustain long-term strategic relationships by demonstrating clear outcomes, financial accountability, and mission alignment.

Proposal Development & Storytelling

  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals, pitches, and business cases that secure philanthropic and earned revenue investments.
  • Translate complex program data and workforce outcomes into persuasive narratives for donors, funders, and business partners.
  • Ensure proposals and reports are timely, accurate, and responsive to funder and partner expectations.

Collaboration & Internal Leadership

  • Manage up and laterally by influencing senior leaders and peers to advance fundraising opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with program, finance, and communications teams to create data-driven budgets, impact reports, sponsorship packages, and sales collateral.
  • Serve as a solutions-oriented leader, presenting thoughtful options and recommendations when addressing challenges.

Advisory Board Engagement

  • Engage Advisory Board members as fundraising and business development partners, leveraging their networks and influence.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Professional Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive revenue-generating experience in fundraising, business development, or corporate partnerships, with demonstrated success securing 6– and 7–figure gifts.
  • Proven track record of building diverse, sustainable revenue portfolios that include philanthropy, corporate sales/earned revenue, sponsorships, and government grants.
  • Strong knowledge of the DC/Maryland philanthropic and corporate community.
  • Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills, with ability to engage senior executives, funders, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Expertise in proposal writing, case-making, and pitching to both philanthropic and business audiences.
  • Highly data-driven and results-oriented, with a history of meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM tools; strong financial acumen to manage forecasts and revenue tracking.
  • Willingness to travel 15–20%.

Personal Attributes

  • Entrepreneurial and growth-minded, with a drive to expand diverse funding sources.
  • Solutions-oriented leader who proactively brings forward recommendations.
  • Collaborative and adaptive, with the ability to manage up, across, and beyond formal reporting lines.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
