Sr. Payroll Analyst

The laboratory is GxP-aligned as well as Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988-certified and College of American Pathologists-accredited.
Summary:
The Sr. Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing the Company’s payroll using the ADP platform on a regular basis and in accordance with the Company’s policy. This position will work closely with Accounting and Human Resources team members to perform the scope of work, and provide exceptional service to the entire employee base. The position will also flex to support other areas in accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full cycle processing of all payroll functions including, time & attendance, time-off, security master, reporting, and workflow administration for all U.S. employees.
- Responds to employee questions and addresses any payroll issues/updates/edits required.
- Enforce payroll policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls and efficient processes in compliance with SOX 404 requirements.
- Manage new state registrations for withholding tax, SUI (state unemployment insurance) and any applicable local taxes.
- Review and audit employee 401(k) contributions as well as make contribution deposits to 3rd party 401(k) administrator in a timely manner.
- Work closely with HR team to ensure employee new hires, terminations, LOA’s, and other changes that affect payroll are processed accurately and timely.
- Review voluntary deductions including medical benefits, FSA, ESPP, 401(k) contributions and loans as well as involuntary deductions, such as garnishments.
- Prepare accounting transactions, including journal entries for bi-weekly payroll/payroll accruals and reconcile payroll related accounts monthly.
- Enter equity related income for NQ exercises and RSU releases. Reconcile YTD taxes to payroll accounting system.
- Ensure timely and accurate W-2 preparation at the end of each calendar year.
- Creating and run payroll related reports as required for interdepartmental and cross functional charges and reference.
- Prepare payroll account reconciliations and flux commentaries for financial statement close review.
- Other ad-hoc related tasks as required
Qualifications - Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5-8 years of progressive payroll experience
- Multi-state payroll experience with ADP Workforce Now and other related systems such as Time & Attendance using time clock and Time Off module etc.
- Great team player, flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment. Ability to multi-task and meet challenges with resourcefulness, effectively handle competing demands, take responsibility for fulfillment of obligations and willing to put in extra time as necessary to complete work and achieve goals.
- Attention to detail with a high-quality focus as well as timeliness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications - Preferred:
Experience working with U.S. public company with between 100 to 500 employees
The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
