Veterinary Technician

PetMedic Freeport is seeking a compassionate, skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Veterinary Technician

PetMedic in Freeport, ME

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Eligible for quarterly bonuses under Rarebreed’s profit-sharing program

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform triage evaluation of the condition of a variety of patients
• Create and maintain treatment sheets
• Calculate and administer scheduled medications
• Place and maintain catheters 
• Record all treatments and patient status observations
• Charge for all treatments and procedures
• Alert the DVM with any changes in a patient’s status
• Perform radiographs and laboratory analyses
• Interact with clients, provide patient updates, financial updates, and manage patient visits
• Able to comfort, handle and restrain large and small animals

REQUIREMENTS

• 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong clinical skills
• Detail-oriented and well organized
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Self-motivated and team-oriented
• Credential (LVT, CVT, or RVT) preferred but not required
