Job description:

We are looking to hire an Operations Analyst in our London office. The Operations professional will play a key role in overseeing the full trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes. They will help strengthen control frameworks and partner closely with Product Control, Fund Accounting, the Execution desk, and Technology to deliver timely and accurate operational support. The role also involves driving process improvements, supporting new product and market onboarding, and maintaining operational infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have a mindset focused on continuously improving operational efficiency and workflows. At least 4 years of experience in hedge fund operations is required. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Finance or Accounting).

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Execution desk to ensure all trades are accurately booked, and any trade discrepancies are resolved within the same-day.
  • Independently identify and resolve trade breaks, demonstrating sound judgement and urgency in issue resolution.
  • Perform reconciliations across FX, OTC, Futures, Equities and Fixed Income products, following through with FCMs, Prime Brokers, Custodians and our Execution desk to ensure timely resolution.
  • Actively monitor, allocate and confirm trades across MarkitWire/MTM, Tradeserve, ICE Link, CTM, and Traiana for FX PB trades.
  • Coordinate and manage FX exposures with the Treasury team.
  • Process OTC and collateral wires, manage fund cash balances, and ensure secure funding in the Money Markets.
  • Perform swap netting at LCH and ICE to compress interest rate swaps and credit default swaps.
  • Review and process FX netting of positions with prime brokers.
  • Manage local market settlements and all associated corporate action events across multiple African markets.
  • Process mandatory and voluntary corporate actions.
  • Liaise with counterparties, fund administrators, and custodians on trade and settlement matters.
  • Contribute ideas to improving efficiency and controls. Assist with initiatives that support these efforts.
  • Escalate and resolve all issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and review all static data periodically.

Skills & Experience:

  • Prior knowledge and experience with affirmation platforms such as Tariana, CTM, MTM, ICE Link and Tradeserve.
  • Knowledge of different financial instruments such as bonds, futures, foreign exchange, and derivatives, specifically interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, exotic options and their workflows are required.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Excel. Any VBA/programming experience would be beneficial.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with strong communication skills across all levels of senior management both internally and externally.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative, curiosity, and accountability in learning systems and improving processes.
