You’ll work directly with customers and industry partners and connect their requirements with PHENOGY’s Product and Engineering teams, influencing solutions and commercial decisions as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage opportunities for PHENOGY BESS solutions across the U.S. and North America.
  • Identify and engage commercial and industrial customers, utilities, municipalities, developers, EPCs, integrators, and channel partners.
  • Lead opportunities from discovery through technical evaluation, proposal, negotiation, and project award; understand customer goals, project economics, requirements, procurement processes, and timelines.
  • Coordinate pricing, proposals, and project-specific offers with internal teams; track opportunity status, risks, requirements, and next steps.
  • Build long-term relationships, identify repeat business, and represent PHENOGY at customer meetings and industry events.

Technical Sales and Project Support

  • Lead customer discussions as a technically credible commercial resource and assess applications, site requirements, load profiles, electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and system configurations.
  • Support preliminary system sizing and discussions of BESS architecture, power conversion, controls, communications, and balance-of-system requirements.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to develop solutions, answer technical questions, prepare proposals and specifications, and explain product capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs.
  • Identify technical requirements, integration challenges, and commercial risks early; help ensure proposed solutions and commercial commitments align with PHENOGY’s capabilities and project scope.
  • Stay engaged after award to support handoff and project execution, join design reviews or site meetings as needed, and coordinate issue resolution with the appropriate teams.

Market and Internal Coordination

  • Connect North American customers with PHENOGY’s Product, Engineering, project, and leadership teams in the U.S. and Europe; translate customer, project, regulatory, and market needs into clear internal priorities.
  • Share customer feedback, competitive developments, and market intelligence to inform product, pricing, commercialization, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Identify new customer segments, applications, partnerships, and routes to market, including opportunities for PHENOGY’s sodium-ion technology.

Qualifications

  • Experience in technical sales, business development, applications engineering, project development, or another customer-facing technical role.
  • Experience in energy storage, renewable or distributed energy, power conversion, microgrids, industrial electrical systems, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and advance complex sales opportunities; sound commercial judgment and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, work independently, and coordinate across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial, industrial, or utility-scale BESS; sodium-ion and lithium-ion technologies; PCS or inverter integration.
  • BMS, EMS, SCADA, Modbus, Ethernet, industrial communications, distributed energy resources, microgrids, or grid-connected systems.
  • Energy storage permitting, certification, interconnection, and applicable NEC, NFPA, UL, or IEEE standards.
